The Body Shop Mango Body Butter was one of the first body butters I ever used and I loved it then and it's still a favorite of mine. This rich, great smelling body butter hydrates my skin and leaves me smelling tropical!
The Body Shop Mango Body Butter
This body butter is sold in two sizes - 1.7 ounces and 6.9 ounces. It's much more economical to buy the larger size since the smaller one is $10.00 and the larger is $20.00. This body butter comes in an orange tub and is a buttery, light orange color. It's very thick and rich and smells sweet and like real mango. It doesn't have an artificial scent like many body products I have tried.
A little goes a long way. I usually scoop about a teaspoonful out and apply it to my legs and then another teaspoonful covers the rest of me. It is rich and takes a few minutes to fully absorb so I usually apply The Body Shop Mango Body Butter after my shower, throw on a robe, and do my hair while it absorbs. Then I can get dressed with no fear of oil stains. The Body Shop has several different body butters made for very dry, dry, and normal skin. This particular formula is made for very dry skin. It contains community trade cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, and mango seed oil to really drench my skin in moisture. I use it in the winter when my skin is at its driest and it keeps me soft and smooth. I switch to a lighter body butter or a body cream in the summer when I don't need as much hydration.
The scent is one of the best qualities of this body butter. It's very fragrant and quite strong. It lasts on my skin for a long time but doesn't overwhelm the senses. I always feel refreshed and "summery" when I use The Body Shop Mango Body Butter. It is pricey but a tub lasts a long time since it is so concentrated.
My Viewpoint
I really like The Body Shop Mango Body Butter. One 6.9 tub lasts me all winter and into spring so, although it is pricey at $20.00 a tub, it lasts so long that it's actually a good value. The scent is great and the hydration is fabulous. I am going with a 4 star rating on this one. I deducted one star because the body butter is a little bit greasy and takes a few minutes to absorb which is a bit of a pain when I am in a rush to get dressed.
**A couple of other products that I purchased from The Body Shop that I like and reviewed are the Mango Lip Butter and the Satsuma Body Polish if you would like to give them a read!
