The Biggest Loser Review Summary

Everyone agrees that The Biggest Loser is a "great show to inspire to lose weight." This NBC series features contestants with a large amount of weight to lose, and utilizing trainers, healthy eating plans, and spirited challenges, they face the scale each week with those losing the least amount of weight to be up for elimination, with the person that loses the most in the end winning $250,000. Previously hosted by Caroline Rhea, it's now hosted by Allison Sweeney (Days of Our Lives), with Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels as the trainers. One thing fans like the most about The Biggest Loser is getting to know the contestants on a deeper level then "rooting for them all." In addition, they refer to this reality show as "a real tear-jerker" as we get to see the contestants see their families once they return home after being gone several weeks. If there is one thing reviewers would like to change about The Biggest Loser, it would be to not have the weigh-ins be dragged out the way they are, and if there were a second thing, it would be to stop the "shameless plugs."

If you're looking for a problem that many Americans have firsthand knowledge on,  weight issues is a good place to start. This can include anything from anorexia, bulimia, obesity, bad nutrition, lack of exercise, etc. The Biggest Loser tackles obesity, usually the morbidly obese. It's unclear...

Yes. I get it. You get some really overweight people together and put them on TV and call it The Biggest Loser. The winner is, of course, the person who makes the biggest lifestyle changes or plays the game the best. Toss the coin.

We have weight issues in this country. That is no secret. The Biggest...

I watched the first two seasons of The Biggest Loser. I found it to be inspiring. I got bored though. You get morbidly obese people together, make them live in close quarters, make them exercise until they vomit, after vomiting exercise more, put them on a diet that is unsustainable in the real world, tempt them, get them to run each other down, and vote people off. The scenery changes but the story stays the same.

Every season, new people, similar challenges, someone wins. They claim it's under doctor's supervision and it's safe. I don't think it's true. In no way is it healthy to lose 20 or...

The Biggest Loser is a great motivator to work off weight, and a good way to make those not so hendered by weight issues aware of what a struggle it can be for the obese population ever growing in today's society. You really get to know the contestants and begin rooting for them all, even when they're up against your favorites.

On the downside, the show really should be about an hour. The commercial breaks are rediculous, especially around the weigh-ins and the voting and the end. When coming back from a commercial, they NEVER pick-up at the point where they left off buy roll back the footage...

NBC's the biggest loser is one of the best shows I have ever see. This show is very motivational for people who are trying to loose weight and for people who dont think they are strong enough to change there own life. Life starts right then and people realize that and it is so nice to see how these people change over time. They really do become a family and that helps them really work togehter for the common goal. There were some people who have been on the show that I dont think deserved to be there but there have really been some inspiring people on there that really inspired me to be a better...

My favorite reality competition show has become the Biggest Loser.  Having been on for several seasons I just recently became a faithful viewer.  It is always up against American Idol and Dancing with the Stars so I never opted to watch it.  Since I tuned in I've become addicted.  My favorite part of the show is the weigh in where some of the contestants drop unbelievable amounts of weight in as short of a time as one week.  I enjoy watching them endure the unbearable workouts that trainers Jillian and Bob put the contestants through every week.  Some of the results of the participants are...

I love reality TV and so I enjoy the Biggest Loser.  However, I can't help but complain about how they drag their feet and take forever to do the weigh ins, so they use up their 90 minute time slot.  Really the show could be reduced to an hour and be just fine.  Also they have at least one shameless plug per episode where the trainer talks about why such and such gum or food item is good.  Egads, are they not getting enough money from the regular commercials they broadcast during the show?  The positive side of the show is that it is truly inspiring to see people making healthy changes to... review »

This is one show that is definitely must see for me.  I am always planning ahead to make sure that I get to see this show.  Just something about it that drags me in week after week.  I am so excited that there is going to be another "shortened version" this year with couples in January so not too much time between :) I found it odd that the "outcasts" that no one wanted in the beginning ended up being the strongest and completely eliminated the other 2 teams.  Sweet revenge perhaps? I think it's a great show and hope it continues.

The Biggest Loser is a great show. I like the fact that it's not just your average reality show. In the end, the contestants come away with more than just a huge prize or money--they get their lives back. I like seeing how the contestants come in then how they are after they left the show. Sometimes I do not like the reality show aspect since someone has to get voted off each week. And sometimes I do not think the contestants are ready for that. I think they could use more time with the trainers, more time learning what they need to do to get their lives back.

I love this show.  It is so inspiring and positive.  I just wish people were voted off for othere reasons than something personal.  I think this season, they have dragged out the voting process way too long.  I also wish they would change the screen when doing the weigh-in to show their beginning weight (currently it is only stated), weight last weigh-in and the new weight.

I like that they follow-up with the contestants.

I love Jillian and Bob, the new girl can go.

I used to love watching the Biggest Loser.  But starting last seaso they seem to give more attention and screen time to those who cause drama or trouble and focus less on the inspiring relationships and accomplishments. Also the product placements are getting a little ridiculous and frequent.  They need to cut back on that, it is getting to the point where it is unnatural and makes the show seems too staged.

The BIggest Loser can always be counted on for a tear-filled moment.  Especially after a few weeks that the contestants get to either see or hear from their family members that they haven't seen in weeks.  Another favorite part for me is to see how successful these people are once they get home and the contestants family and friends are waiting to welcome them home.  WOW!!  Great Show!~!~

A reality show thats reality. Where losing wins. This show has it all and the contestants actually have to earn their prize. Other reality shows are fake but this one is truly inspirational. You don't want anybody to be voted off because you know each and everyone of them is trying so hard to be the biggest loser!

This show has really inspired me to get off the couch and lose some weight.  I figure if these people who are truly obese can get in the gym and work out for up to 8 hours a day, I can do it too! I really love Bob.  He is super sweet and you can tell he really cares about those he is training.

The biggest loser gets me every time I watch it.  I am so inspired by all the people on there.  I just wish that I could go to a ranch and have someone kick my butt daily to work out.  I have bought the dvds to try and keep up with them at home.
