I inadvertently got a preview of the new CBS show, The Big Bang Theory, while flipping channels very early one morning. On Comedy Central, Tivo sponsored the airing at the ungodly hour. I had seen commercials and read about it so I know it is from Chuck Lorre, and it is about a couple of socially inept geniuses named Sheldon(Jim Parsons) and Leonard(Johnny Galecki) who live together, and a pretty blonde( Kaley Cuoco), who is not a genius, moves next door. Lorre contributed to the shows Dharma and Greg and Two and a Half Men. While I can not get into Men(Charlie Sheen has never appealed to me),...
review »The experts keep saying that sit-coms are on their way out and I hate to think that is true. This cute sit-com makes me laugh out loud at least 10 times per show and the world needs more laughter.
The characters are 4 nerdy men and 1 pretty female neighbor. The nerds all like the neighbor but one REALLY likes her and hopes to have a relationship with her someday.....but it will never happen.
The nerds are hilarious, each one has their own quirks, but together they are all the same underneath. I like the 2 main characters best, Sheldon and Leonard. When they start talking "nerd" it is hard...
review »I almost missed this show, as I DVR everything, so do not see commercials for other shows. I won't go in depth into the premise of the show, as the reviews before this one cover that pretty well. It was several friends telling me I had to see it before I finally set it up to record. So glad I did! This show is hysterical. In the age of computers and all things technical we all now have some of the traits stereo-typed in the show. Not to mention everyone probably knows one or two people with more than just a few of the traits depicted at this point.
I have watched the four episodes we have over...
review »I had seen the promos for the show and decided that it was one I wanted to watch in the new season. And I really liked what I saw.
The 4 nerd friends are just perfect. All are different and funny in their own way. I like the unusual people they interact with too.
My favorite show so far is the one where Indian character has his parents on a webcam from India. They can see him and his friends and what they are doing. They want to set up a marriage for him. He agrees to meet the girl but can't talk to girls; until his nerd friends get him to drinking. Lots of funny things happen.
Big Bang Theory is the only new show I began watching in the fall, and the first show I've watched on CBS in several years. I really hope they keep the show on the air longer than the last two shows I watched on the network. I was really on the fence about watching this, but the fact that the theme song is done by Barenaked Ladies sealed the deal. I'm really glad.
The characters are perfect stereotypes. Leonard is played by the same guy who played David on Roseann, and this is a very good role for him. Sheldon is my favorite character. He's very quirky and plays a perfect nerd. His...
review »I always look forward to watching this show. It's so incredibly funny. Most of us can say we have know some if not all of these characters in high school. I keep hoping that Penny and Leonard get together. Sheldon has some serious issues. I really enjoy his deappan face when he is expressing his views. The entire cast is a riot. They play well off each other.
