This book and others by the Sears helped me through some difficult times when I was pregnant and while my two babies were growing.  This book has really good alternatives to the cry it out method.  I really recommend it for parents that want to try a more compassionate and holistic style of parenting.  Of course everything you read in a book you must adapt to your own situation and your own family, but they have sound advice as well as good medical information to back up everything they say.  I have to say that their advice helped me have more sleep, less frustration, and… read full review »

I unfortunately did not come accross this book until my 3rd child was a couple months old. We did practice attachment parenting since #1 was born but didn't know that it had a name. They never tell you you HAVE to do something. They give you the 7B's and tell you to do the one's that fit with your own family. Such a countrast to alot of the other parenting books available. The Attachment Parenting book is a great resource for parents whether they wish to practice AP or not. Even practicing a few of the AP techniques in the book can help the baby parent experience. It's not something that you have to go at 100% or nothing. Also the book has guidelines that will help you get to know your baby better and understand those signals that sometimes frustrate new parents. — Great gift idea too! —… read full review »

This ia a great book for NEW parents....if you are familiar with Attachment Parenting this book mak seem a bit repetitive.....I kind of think that you only need one Sear's book in the house because they essentially all mention the same things at one point or another. Nonetheless, what they do have to say is useful and can really help new parents who have no idea how to approach life with a… read full review »
