Pros

    eat foods like bacon, supposedly you burn fat for energy, supposedly a healthy diet, can eat meats and cheeses, no calorie counting

Cons
    hard to stick to, hard to maintain ketosis, atkins brand foods are hard to find, I don't think it's healthy long term, very severe, atkins supplements were discontinued, not enough fiber, very little variety, super restrictive with carbs

The Atkins Diet — 

I've tried Atkins twice over the years and both times I dropped the weight rapidly. I failed to remain on the diet because it is sooo restrictive and if you use the recipes, you'll be in the kitchen cooking all day. I dont have time for that. Also, Atkins foods, meals, shakes, bars are extremely expensive and come in small quantities. My favorite thing that Atkins made was the Basic 3 Supplement vitamins which provided all the essential vitamins your body needed to run properly and in the correct amounts. That was a wonderful multivitamin but it has since been discontinued. I wish they would bring it back and modify the Atkins diet to make it less restrictive and easier for us busy people to accomplish.
