Not for Long Term Weight Loss

Pros

    Good short term if you stick with it, eat foods like bacon, never hungry, supposedly you burn fat for energy, can eat meats and cheeses, fast results

Cons
    very confusing, atkins brand foods are hard to find, hard to stick to, sugar withdrawl, the food is not affordable always, very little variety, super restrictive with carbs, Harder to maintain than one would think., first 2 weeks are a bitch, Initial Carb restriction too low, Food budget bomb, Lifetime diet or you gain again

The Atkins Diet — 

This diet (The Atkins Diet) was one that I was able to lose weight on.  However, after stopping the diet and returning to a normal diet.  I did gradually gain the weight back.  I know that this diet is more of a lifestyle change.  But for me calculating netcarbs was not realistic.  I am a mom on the go and everything I eat cannot be so easily calculated unless I take time to stop and figure it out.  After having said that, I wasn't hungry on this diet, which is a plus.  On most diet's that's the first thing that makes me stray off the path.  I think this would be good diet for someone that needs to lose a quick 10-20, but not so sure if long term goals are in mind.
