I really like Texas Toast - billed as "the original." It is the first thick type frozen toast I ever tried and is still one of my favorites.

Texas Toast comes in a box with the bread sliced and in a plastic bag. You can cook a slice or two or the whole box. I think there are 8 slices total. One piece makes a generous bread serving, but it's so good, I usually plan on two slices per person.

There are different flavors or types of Texas Toast. We get the plain when we plan to grill the toast and the cheese when it's going in the oven. The cheese sticks to the grill, burns and makes a mess, so don't buy the cheese version if you want to try grilling the toast.

Any of the Texas Toasts are great in the oven. Just stick them in until the bread is toasted - around 8 minutes. Don't thaw - just put them in.

As far as grilling, again you put the bread on frozen. Once you've cooked your meat or vegetables, lay slices of plain buttered Texas Toast over the coals. Use tongs (or even a fork) to flip the bread once you have grill marks on the down side. It depends on the heat of your coals or grill, but it only takes a couple of minutes per side usually. Very quick and easy too.

I make bread and buy specialty breads. We really like our bread around here. Texas Toast isn't like bread baked up fresh, but I say thumbs up for a tasty bread that goes right from the freezer to the oven or grill and is ready in minutes.

It was more my tri levels which were over 500 when 150 is normal. Cholesterol was more like just double what it should be. Just . . . Teehee. All about perspective I guess. Cholesterol was not doing me proud either. I cut them both in half - still bad - but better. Then I went on a food bender. I told the doc not to do the blood tests last time as I knew they would be BAD. Now, I'm supposed to get back with the program. Not sure it's worth it though. I love good food.

ya better break out the low-fat cheese, with the high colesterol,Sorry about that :(, I have to watch what my hubby eats at times, Never eat chicken or something really fatty before a test it will give you a false reading ,("Higher than normal ").He's been doing the oatmeal every morning along with cereals and that has helped :)) Good luck to you :)

I'm not supposed to be eating all that cheese. Well, not the bread and butter much either. Oh sigh. Now I want more cheese too. I hate high cholesterol.

Teehee. You give 'em some beer (but after they roof), and they won't know if you did brisket or smoked shoe. A little good sauce. It's all good. God love them redneck boys! And do that Texas Toast too. Stretches the dollar with some bread to go with the meat. If you can find some cute girls to invite . . . well hey . . . you could get by with hot dogs.
