My husband and I were eating breakfast at a 1950's style diner, complete with pictures of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe on the walls and an old jukebox. The food was horrible and left me to look at all the memorabilia around the diner instead of eat my food. I was hoping that some hot sauce could spark some life into this breakfast, so I asked the waiter to bring me some hot sauce.
Restaurants usually serve the traditional red Tabasco, which I don't like, so when he brought me something I had never had before - Texas Pete Hot Sauce, I was curious. I tested it on a small piece of food and instantly loved it. Unlike most hot sauces, this one does not have a strong vinegar flavor. The flavor of vinegar is still there, but much more mild then most hot sauces. Although I enjoy really spicy hot sauces, I love this one even though it isn't really hot. I'm sure to some, they would find it spicy, but I find it more flavorful.
Since Texas Pete Hot Sauce is so mild, it really is good on just about anything. I like to add it to eggs, marinades, chili and just about anything that needs a little kick.
