Great for students

Comments about Texas Instruments - Scientific Calculator TI-30Xa:

As an RN and continuing nursing student, it's important to me to have the right equipment when I need it. That goes for work, home or school. The Texas Instruments I've used are wonderful. I even needed "tech" support to be able to use the scientific calculator, and the company helped me out. They were actually great about it. I needed the calculator for one of my recent classes and then couldn't figure out how to use it. Yeah, that's pathetic, but if you haven't had to use one before, it can seem more complicated than it really is! This calculator has lots of functionality, is very affordable and ended up being very easy to use. My kids use the same one for their high school and college classes. Great deal!

Best calculator I have owned so far

By

from Shrewsbury, MA

Comments about Texas Instruments - Scientific Calculator TI-30Xa:

It is a simple calculator with no bells and whistles. I had no problems whatsoever for the last two years - no reboot, no menu freeze, no calculation mistakes or awkward outputs. I have not used this calculator for integrals but I am sure this calculator would have equally good with those as well. The display is good -clear and crisp, pretty good for a small panel. The response time is excellent, never had to bother waiting on a long formula calculation, particularly financials. The navigation menu is simple, easy to use with no complicated click throughs. The features are decent, nothing great and nothing bad. The battery life of this calculator is excellent but auto-shut off really annoys sometimes.

great calculator

Comments about Texas Instruments - Scientific Calculator TI-30Xa:

The texas instruments calculators have always been my favorite brand of calculator because they are so functional and well laid out. I love having one of these calculators around for any time that I need to make a quick calculation- which is not that often any more since I am no longer in school.

The best part for me was the design and layout of the buttons. I quickly got accustomed to them. In fact, I have a hard time with any other calculator because I just expect them to be like mine. They are also quite cheap, so there is almost no worry when you lose one, or give one away- all you have to do is plan your next shopping trip to the store! It also comes with a cover to protect it from the other items in your bag.

I have never had one stop working on me, but once or twice I have lost one or given a copy to a friend. Overall, this is the best calculator I have ever owned! I definitely recommend one.

TI-30Xa

Comments about Texas Instruments - Scientific Calculator TI-30Xa:

I have had this calculator for a few years now.  I had a TI83-Plus calculator before this which was awesome, but it got stolen.  I bought this calculator thinking that it would just hold me over until I could afford another 83, but I found out I really liked it.  It could do everything I needed it to and has never given me any problems.  The batteries in it still work after about 4 years now so that is awesome.  it helps that it has an automatic shut off feature that keeps the batteries from wearing out if you forget to turn it off.  It's really easy to use and the buttons work well and don't stick like some calculators I have had.  I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a calculator that can do things simply.  I would totally recommend this calculator especially to college students if they aren't in heavy math classes.  This calculator got me through a lot of college classes.

great value

Comments about Texas Instruments - Scientific Calculator TI-30Xa:

I've used these calculators to get through 5 actuarial exams, and have always been very happy (except the time I forgot them).

These calculators are very reliable, and inexpensive enough to get a couple just in case the battery breaks down at the worst time.  In terms of functionality, they have everything you need for normal financial calculations.

It should be noted that these calculators do not have a memory, which is both good and bad, as there is no suspicion for exams.

It can take some time to become accustomed to using some of the buttons, exponential (and exponentiation) buttons can take a few tries at first, and the lack of multiple lines means the parentheses can be complicated to use, but when you write your equations down on paper and just use the calculator to crunch numbers, you can't go wrong.

The only downside is that they only have a single line, and order of operations on these can be a little bit daunting at first.  But once you get used to it, it's a low risk calculator to bring with you everywhere!

The BEST and Easiest Scientific Calculator

By

from Eclectic, AL

Comments about Texas Instruments - Scientific Calculator TI-30Xa:

I have had the Texas Instruments TI-30Xa for a little over ten years now. This calculator is my absolute favorite, and I always use it. I have tried to convert to better, more expensive scientific calculators, but this little guy just always gets the job done. It is so easy to use, and extremely affordable. When my little brother began his trek through Algegra and high school math, I made sure that he had this exact calculator, and threatened him if mine ever came up missing! He loves this calculator as well. I told hime it would be his best friend and he did come back to me a year or so after having it and told me that I was right, and that he loved this calculator. This version is usually the one recommended by high school math teachers and high school text books, and I understand why. It takes no time at all to master all of the functions, and you will be zipping through complex calcuations in no time at all!
