I came to Texas A&M University because the traditions of the school appealed to me. I experienced Texas A&M first through the football games and this is one place where the traditions explode to life. First off, we have yell leaders instead of cheerleaders. These people lead the entire student body in 'yells' that one learns at Fish Camp, a place designed to teach incoming students about the diverse history and opportunities available at the school. Aggies, as students current and former are referred to, also stand throughout the entire game, wear the colors of maroon and white, and occasionally...

I was top ten percent in high school, so I was automatically accepted at Texas A&M. I majored in Agricultural Economics with a minor in Business. I also received my Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics from A&M. The school opened my eyes to different thought processes, different cultures, and different ways of life. Though A&M has sometimes been discribed as a very conservative school that does not accept other ways of thinking,...

I felt embraced by the students, professors & culture and was amazed at the sense of community I felt after just a short time. With the traditions & conservative values that this University and it's students represent I felt as if I were part of a bigger family that cared for me as much as I cared for it. From football games to midnight yell and too many fun events to list, an Aggie is guaranteed the opportunity to experience things that can not be...

Outside of the school is a memorial for 12 students that died during a bonfire 10 years ago. The student body is greater than 40,000, however, everybody seems to know everybody. Students greet each other by saying Howdy when they see one another and it is an amazing tradition that will never fade away. Texas A&M athletics are one of the most competitive in the nation. The women and men track teams won the national championship last...

First of all, the town of College Station and the people who attend Texas A&M are some of the friendliest around. Volunteering is abundant and there are always people willing to lend a hand. Also, Texas A&M is a very distinguished school and is highly recruited by many employers. I am currently enrolled in the Professional Program of Accounting at Texas A&M and have already locked in a job at a public accounting firm once I graduate next May. Texas A&M was also recently recognized for being a great...
