Quick View:When I used to think of Teva, I would think of the mushy flip flops and other sporting type saddles I have seen people wear. I didn't realize they also sold running and cross training shoes. The Teva website recently had a sale on some of their sporting shoes and I bought a pair of Teva X-1 Evolution Running Shoes. Wow. They rock!

My Take on Teva X-1 Evolution Running Shoes

Teva makes these shoes in both men's and women's styles. I, of course, bought the women's style. They look exactly the same, though.

There were a couple of colors on sale at the time but I chose the pumpkin color (which is ORANGE in all caps) because I have several pairs of white and a pair of black exercise shoes and I wanted something different. The orange color sure is different but these shoes are amazing.

They run true to size and are only 8 ounces. They're made from mesh and have a lot of rubber on the sole and surrounding the sides of the shoe. They also have what Teva calls "spider rubber" along the sides and across the foot bed for more durability. They are traditional lace up shoes good for running, cardio, and really, just about anything athletic or for street wear. They are neutral as far as pronation go, which is the only reason I would favor my New Balance exercise shoes. They are made for people like me who over pronante. My feet and ankles tend to roll inward and I like extra arch support on the right side of my shoes.

Although Teva X-1 Evolution Running Shoes are neutral (as most shoes like this are), they have excellent arch support and feel like I'm walking on air. They're wide enough to be super comfy but not TOO wide to cause the shoe to slip.

These are tough shoes, made to be used on trails and other rugged terrain and they can take a beating. But they're also great shoes for indoor exercising and walking on normal surfaces. They are super comfortable, light, and have the support I need when I am bouncing around during workouts. My knees need protecting and these shoes absorb shock very well. I am so glad I bought them. I didn't expect that I would like them as much as I do!

My Viewpoint

Teva X-1 Evolution Running Shoes are on sale right now on the Teva website for just $19.90 down from $90.00. They are selling on other websites for between $80.00 and $90.00 so clearly, Teva.com is the place to get these right now. They're bright but they're unique and really comfortable. They're light, cushioned, and rugged. If they had a higher arch on in the right side of the shoe, these would be perfect for me. Even so, I give them 4 stars. They're going to get a lot of wear from me!

In response to GigiandAdonai's comment from Jul 27, 2009 at 3:58PM:

I have so many pairs of shoes that, when I work out, I don't worry about matching like I do "in real life" although I do have black and coral yoga pants and a coral top that match these. They're less bright then they seem. I gave up on Nikes long ago. They don't have the arch support I need. I would buy another pair if I tried them first and they had a great arch though.

Get yourself a Halloween shirt and you're good to go! I am so in love with my Nikes right now that I'm not considering anything else. Also, the OCD in me likes her shoes to match. It would be difficult for me to pair these with anything in my wardrobe ;+/
