easy to assemble, easy to install, Quiet, Cost effective, not unattractive, uses space wisely, easy to clean

can't use as much water, a little harder to find

Tetra Whisper In-Tank Filer —

I lucked upon this In-tank Filter for my new aquarium. I bought the aquarium online and it didn't come complete (I knew that when I bought it), so I was slowly looking to get the rest of the parts. No, this isn't my first aquarium. It is my second, and bigger, in this house. I have had aquariums my whole life and used different filtration methods. I wasn't wanting to use an undergravel filter in this tank, but really didn't have the room for a behind the tank filter either. I was about to go ahead and buy an undergravel filter when I saw this one and thought it sounded perfect. And OMG, it is. It takes up no room on the back of the tank. My tank can literally go against the wall. It is way more quiet than any other filters I have had. I have had it set up and "cylcing" for over 2 months now and have not had to change the filter at all. The only problem I see with it, and it isn't a problem for me, is you can't fill the tank as high as I normally might. You have to keep the water level just barely below the lip for obvious reasons. Overall, I think I will buy another one soon for my other tank. I absolutely love this one. Plus it will give George W. (My HUGE pleco) something else to check out..... LOL
