Wizard's First Rule is an amazing begining to the series with belivable plot twists and turns, action, adventure, romance, not too much, and deep witty characters. Each of the main three characters, Zedd, Kahlan, and Richard, are good people, but also have flaws. None of the characters are very forthcoming with information, but all have trust in each other and protect one another to the death. Zedd is very humorous and witty, Richard is a little nieve, but only uses his power for good, and Kahlan deals with harsh coldness every day, but is still able to be warm and loving. Th book is dark and intense, but often humorous with lighthearted moments between the three. The book is very long in pages, but it doesn't bore or go too long.
