Terro Ant Killer Liquid Bait: Take That You Invasive Critters!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Medium-sized black ants.  Teeny tiny black ants.  Itsy bitsy red ants.  Oh my!  After living in my house that sits on a hill for a little over three years, I've decided the hill it rests on is a ginormous ant hill.  Each summer, it never fails.  One species of ants comes in my living room.  After they get under control, another starts in my kitchen.  Those soon vanish, and the next varmint enters my living room again.

I've tried numerous things: outdoor ant baits, sprays, cayenne pepper, and several homemade concoctions to no avail.  They thumb their tiny little noses at me (do ants have noses?), and continue their scavenging.

Last year I was introduced to Terro Liquid Ant Bait.  The active ingredient is Borax, so it supposed to be less toxic than other chemicals out there.  You put a little drop of the bait on a piece of cardboard, and set them out and wait.  I usually set the cardboard piece inside a lid from a jar.  It just kind of helps keep them in place.  It also makes it easier to pick up and set them outside while the ants are still feasting and my kids are running around the house.

It does take several days to start seeing results, but it does work.  You have to be ruthless and stay on top of them.  With my case in point, once I get them under control in my kitchen, I might see the living room ant production start back up.  It's a vicious cycle, but the Terro does control them better than anything else I've had to work with.

So, until the ants and I can come to the agreement where I'll leave them scraps from my kids' dinner on the front porch if they stay outside, Terro will remain a product I use to terminate the suckers.
