I have had a temperpedic mattress for 8 years. I have multiple orthopedic problems and find the temperpedic helpful in pain control. It also makes it less likely that I will wake up my husband when changing position.
The mattress wears well, it has been "turned" twice and that is difficult for 1 person to do alone. The only negative we have found is that it is too firm, at first, in winter. Our house is cool and the tempur material is heat activated( that's how it conforms to you). It's fine once we have been in it for a bit. It also tends to be to warm in summer if you don't have air conditioning in your bedroom on hot days. The mattress retains body heat.
Nothing I have tried feels exactly like it. If you are considering one find a dealer with them set up and try it out. Don't rush. Stay on the mattress for 15-30 min. It's worth the time. You might also want to try it, go home and think about it, then try again. You'll be sleeping on it for many years, take the time to get what is right for you.
