Other mattresses may look like Tempur-Pedics, but they don’t have the same great memory foam, air flow and stability. If you’re looking to buy a good night’s sleep, Tempur-Pedic or one of the other great mattresses reviewed by home consumers will make all the difference.

To the Point

I wrote a review of a Vera Wang mattress we bought for $2,000 and returned after two weeks. We went with the bed I loved from the get go; however, the sticker shock of $3,500 put a halt to the Celebrity Bed by Tempur-Pedic. After really not liking the Vera Wang and starting to feel our...

This bed is not only uncomfortable to sleep in, but the morning after I am stiff, sore, exhausted, and CRANKY! I'm a light sleeper and tend to change positions often, so when I roll over in this bed not only is it a huge effort to "escape" the dent I've made, I can't fall asleep again until a new dent... review »

We bought this model of the TempurPedic in 2004.  We love it!  In 2006 the zipper on the cover they put on the TempurPedic Celebrity Mattress broke.  I had emailed to ask how we could have it fixed and they replaced the whole bed -FREE!!  Apparently it was a defect in the older models as well as the cover/topper sliding to one side,so they revamped it, and replaced ours free of charfe.  That's awesome customer service!!  The only thing I really don't care for is that the cover on the cover/topper does not come off so it can't be washed. It has a zipper, and I am still trying to figure out... review »

The first two weeks with our Tempurpedic were a little difficult but after that it was sweet dreams.  This mattress is unlike any other that I have slept on.  It actually requires an effort to change positions since there aren't any springs.  Once our bodies adjusted to the new mattress we were sold.  We have had our mattress for over 3 years and I am extremely pleased.  I would recommend that if you are considering a Tempurpedic that you actually try one in a store and be willing to give yourself at least 2 weeks to adjust to the new surface before you decide that you aren't happy.  As the...

I now own my third Tempurpedic bed! After a major car accident left me with painful, permanent injuries, I purchased a Tempurpedic bed. Sleeping on it the first time was an amazing, eye opening experience. I didn't know that it would ever be possible for me to sleep comfortably again, but now it is. When my mattress was destroyed by a hurricane that took off my roof and ceilings, I purchased another, only one that was deeper. After that one was damaged in the process of moving, the company was true to their warranty and replaced the damaged one without any difficulty at all. This company makes... review »

My husband and I were visiting my mother and brother on the day my brother's tempurpedic was delivered.  Since my brother's bedroom was the only option for us to sleep in that night - we got to christen his new bed.  I can recall it was summer, and the air conditioning was set to 72.  I remember being surprised that the mattress was firmer than I expected.  I guess I expected it to feel like a dish sponge.

As I was lying there, trying to get comfortable, the body heat started kicking in.  The room felt about 20 degrees warmer than it was.  I had to get a fan.  When I got back into...

I bought the celebrity from a major retailer after multiple trips testing out the feel and reading the positive reviews. I believe the bad reviews don't get posted nearly enough so here's fair warning. I came off a top of the line Sterns/Foster for the Tempurpedic. Somehow I thought spending $4500 would buy me a better nights sleep. WRONG. From day 1, I began having all the things that the foam bed claims to help: pinch points, horrible sleep, waking up with my shoulders and arms numb, neck pain, headaches. At 10 months it was unbearable and I sold the bed for $1800 to get rid of the damn... review »

I bought this bed instead of a regular coil spring mattress after 'testing' it at the mattress store.  Laying on the bed for 2 minutes and sleeping on it for 540 are two totally different things.

  1. This bed was a pain in the neck, back, shoulders.. you name it.
  2. Lord help you if you are sick and have to lay on it any longer, because you'll be in so much pain, you'll wish you were under the ~300 pound monstrosity instead of on top of it.
  3. Not to mention that you have to buy special sheets for the daggone thing (at $300 a pop) b/c they're specially fitted for the mattress.

After 8 painful...

The Celebrity bed is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.  It took some time to get broke in but the wait was worth it.  I have trouble sleeping anywhere else!  Others have indicated they thought the Tempurpedic's were hot but I haven't found that to be the case and I'm hot natured.  On the Celebrity model make sure to get a waterproof pad that's designed for the Tempurpedics as the mattress cover that comes with the mattress is not removable.  Tempurpedic sells them or you can purchase them from a company called Gotcha Covered.  Also, helps keep the sheets in place, since the Celebrity... review »

We purchased our King size TempurPedic Celebrity Mattress in 2004 and have regretted the purchase ever since, especially given the huge expense. Beginning with getting in the bed, for the average height woman, it is a climb. Once in the bed, I find it difficult to fall asleep because I am not the kind of person who can get into bed and fall asleep; it takes me several tries to find the perfect position and with this bed it is difficult to change positions since you sink into a huge divot, which requires great effort to escape each time. I also must say that getting out of bed in the morning is...

Tempurpedic Celebrity Bed - be afraid - be very afraid...

Do NOT purchase this bed unless you are looking for a gift for your mortal enemy.  We have slept on this monstrosity since 2004 and we have been waking up in constant pain for the last 3 years.  Talking to Tempurpedic is like talking to the salesman that has the perfect screen door for your submarine...  When we started to notice an issue (i.e., the pain), they required us to pick up the 500 pound mattress, put on the floor (flat) and look for a .75 inch sag and send them pictures and so on...  In the wise words of Charlie Brown, "...

I got this bed four years ago and count myself a true convert! I balked a bit at first about spending so much on a bed -- but after some comparison calls, I found a liquidation-type store that had Tempurpedics for around the same as a pillowtop mattress.

Here's the thing: Mattresses are expensive for a reason. People can't abide an uncomfortable bed for long, so they're willing to pay for quality. So why spend $600 or more on a pillowtop when you can spend $800 on a Tempurpedic?

Every time I stay anywhere outside my home, I'm always happy to come back to my bed. It absorbs a lot of movement,...

Hi, I have ad my Celebrity for about 4 months, and i absolutely love it!  I suffered from lower back pain and neck pain for almost 8 years, which were sport related injuries.  The first 2 nights in the bed were difficult because your body has to get aquainted with the material!.. it is very different than a traditional mattress!... after my body adjusted, my pains went away!.. The usual pinched nerve in my back (causing my left leg to go numb) quickly started to disappear!... I love this bed so much! i enjoy going to bed early! lol ... it is very solid, very limited shock movement.. I highly...

I absolutely love the Tempur Pedic line of mattresses. I personally own one, and I feel that it was money well spent. You don't have to rich to own one of these mattresses. You will be spending the same amount of money on a high quality spring mattress, but the Tempur Pedic does so much more for comfort and support. The mattresses come with a 20 year limited warranty, a 90 day trial period so if you don't like it, you only have to pay the shipping. The shipping service is exceptional. They arrive with your mattress within 7-8 business days, they set the mattress up in the room you want it... review »

With Fibromyalgia since my late 30's and pain from a slipped vertebrae in my low back, a decent night's sleep had been impossible. First I tried a Tempur-Pedic cervical support pillow. I felt like somone was cradling my head and neck in foam. My shoulders relaxed and upper body seemed less painful in the morning.

WOW! Then I thought, "Hmm, if this is great for my neck, maybe the mattress would be great for my whole body."

Great is an understatement. Within 3 days of sleeping on my Tempur-Pedic mattress, I stayed asleep all night and woke in the morning able to get out of bed without making...
