I got this bed four years ago and count myself a true convert! I balked a bit at first about spending so much on a bed -- but after some comparison calls, I found a liquidation-type store that had Tempurpedics for around the same as a pillowtop mattress.
Here's the thing: Mattresses are expensive for a reason. People can't abide an uncomfortable bed for long, so they're willing to pay for quality. So why spend $600 or more on a pillowtop when you can spend $800 on a Tempurpedic?
Every time I stay anywhere outside my home, I'm always happy to come back to my bed. It absorbs a lot of movement, which is good because my fiance and I are move-filled sleepers. But I have severe fatigue issues from some health problems, so I can say honestly this was a great purchase. I noticed better sleep right away, and after four years, it's still in top condition. Just remember to turn the bed periodically or you will notice more back problems, as the bed starts to conform to your shape a bit more than you might like. But once the mattress has been rotated, you're fine.
The first time I lay on one of these, I knew I had to have one. I am a miser and hate spending a lot of money on anything. But this mattress supports my body, while also conforming to my shape -- it's the best of both the firm mattress and soft mattress! And no springs will ever poke me. And with a long warranty, the cost is practically nil over a decade or more. Consider how long most mattresses last (what, five or six years if you're lucky?) and then compare yearly costs... The answer is obvious!
