Best mattress for back pain sufferer and doesn't heat up

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

When we got married, we immediately bought a pricy pillow-topped mattress from Macy's and used it for a year before trying the Tempurpedic because of my husband's back pain. Also, with his weight (240), he was rolling toward the middle of the high-quality pillow-topped mattress. Although I found that one more comfortable to sink into, it wasn't working for us because of his weight.

When we got the Tempurpedic, it solved several problems: no more rolling toward the middle, no disturbance when one of us got into our out of bed (your side of the bed doesn't move when the other person gets in or out), and reduced back pain. He has a 4-vertebrae fusion, and since moving to AZ without our Tempurp...

Tempurpedic: Think again if you have fibro

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

My husband and I purchased our Tempurpedic bed and foundation after going on a cruise in 2004 and experiencing a springless-bed for the first time. There are its good points: there is no wear or dip in the mattress after 6 years and you sleep like a rock on it. The bad points: if you have fibro sleeping like a rock is not good for you. You need to turn and move a bit so your muscles don't feel all cramped and sore in the morning. Also it is difficult to move around (think lovemaking) on this bed. It doesn't let you slide or climb over easily and it doesn't bounce. Also after six years the foundation has gotten very squeaky. I may try contacting Tempurpedic to see if they would do anything ab...

can't wait to go back to sleep!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I absolutley love my tempurpedic mattress.  It was the first mattress I bought when I first started working (right out of college) and I've had it for six years now.  I have a tendency to sleep on one side of the bed and sometimes in the middle, but it is still as comfy as ever, not lumpy or dips in any way.  I've slept through mild earthquakes in this bed.  I also have lower back problems and after getting this bed it has reduced the aches and pains I feel and even helps fix some of the issues I get during the day.  While I do not find this an issue, others have felt the bed can get too warm.  Since it is made of a memory foam like material it can definite...

I am reviewing the Tempurpedic queen size mattress we bought a little while back. While I must say that it is quite a comfortable bed, I also have to say that it does take a little time to get used to it. I thought at first it was a bit hard, and you tend to have a hard time "moving" against the surface of the bed. It is not as easy as a regular spring mattress to sleep on @ first, however, once you get used to it, it is pretty awesome. The mattress cnforms to your spine and hits all the pressure points to give the appearance of sleeping supported @ all axis points. For the first time in a long time, I didn't awake @ all in the morning with a stiff neck or back. I felt truly rested and refreshed. With all of this being said, I am wondering about the other "knock-offs" out there with memory foam (e.g. Bob's Bobopedic) that claim to be the same as Tempurpedic. If they truly are as restful as this mattress and roughly half the price, then that would be a wise investment.

sleep like a baby

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The Tempurpedic Mattress set is among the most comfortable I have ever slept on. They were a feature of the last place I stayed while I was out of town. They come with a cover that can be unzipped and removed for cleaning, but it's very plush microfiber, and is oohhhh so comfortable.

They seem to hold their shape forever. They lines look more square than a regular mattress, which loses shape over time. Not only was it comfortable, but inkeepers say it is cost effective in the long run. These just don't need replacement as soon as other mattresses. it also seems to repel dust mites, the ugly little buggers that get into most mattresses over time, even increasing their weight!

If you w...

Don't be tempted to be trendy

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I know everyone raves about these mattresses, but I am not a fan. I do not feel that they are as comfortable as the old style mattresses with springs. I understand that firmness is supposed to be good for your back and neck. I also understand that people are bothered by people that toss and turn next to them. I feel that this sort of mattress is TOO firm. Yes, it forms to your body like a sponge or a glove, but who wants to sleep in a glove? And if you're worried about being bothered by someone moving around while they sleep next to you, maybe you shouldn't be sleeping with anyone. I prefer a mattress that has movement and comfort and feels like you're sleeping on a cloud rather than in a gl...

Every pregnant woman should have one of these to sleep on!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Seriously, every pregnant woman should get a Temperpedic bed as soon as the stick turns blue.  I'm not going to say it made me "comfortable" during my pregnancy and bed rest (I have never met a "comfortable" pregnant woman), but it did make it possible for me to get a few winks every night.  My husband didn't like it because his whole body didn't "sink into" it.  He prefers a bed that is more "cloud-like" and soft, and the Temperpedic is more firm.  However, I loved the way it allowed my heavy parts (namely my pregnant belly, sore breasts, and ever-widening hips) to sink in and be cradle firmly.  I didn't have to prop myself up with a million pillows or worse, sit up in recliner to try to get some sleep.  Another thing I liked about the Temperpedic was how quiet it was.  There was no creaking, crinkling, or groaning.  Just blessed silence and wonderful support.  I would recommend this bed to anyone who needs firm, yet gentle support.

Best Night's Sleep... Ever!!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Tempur-pedic mattresses are key to an excellent night's sleep!

I slept on one as a guest in someone's house once... and I can most definitely say it was the best night's sleep I had ever had! It was like sleeping on a cloud! (Maybe even better.) The shoulder pain I had the night before was completely gone by morning. The mattress conformed to my body perfectly. My significant other and I could not even feel the bed move if one of us turned over!

Even though they are expensive, they are completely worth every dollar spent! As soon as I have extra money to spare, I am going to be getting one of these for myself. I am usually a "bargain hunter" and try to live within a monthly budget. However, it you spend approximately 1/3 of your life in bed, doesn't it make sense to have the best mattress possible? It does to me! (Especially when a perfect night's sleep is key to an amazing day!) Once you try a Tempur-pedic mattress, you will never want to go back to anything else!

Temper-Pedic has taken away all my aches and pains, I can sleep.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have suffered from Scoliosis for over 10 years now and nothing has eased my pain, not the chiropractor, braces, pain medication, nothing, until now. We recently bought a king size Temper-Pedic bed and on the first night I fell asleep and didn't wake up once until my alarm went off, a first in a long time. My chiropractor has noticed a changed in my spine also, since the bed holds you in a natural way when you sleep my spine hasn't been getting misaligned at night. The animals love it too, I am constantly catching the cats and dogs on my bed passed out, I would buy then their own if they weren't so expensive. I believe that your health is your wealth and this bed has made me a new person. I...

I bought it for my mom

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I bought this mattress for my mother. She used a wheelchair and it was great for her because it helped to prevent bedsores. She enjoyed that she could move the bed up and down similiar to that of a hospital bed, but much more comfortable. This bed is super soft which is extremely nice.

One negative thing about the mattress is that it can be extremely difficult to move once you are in a particular position. Turning is hard, especially for a person with limited mobility.

My mother absolutely loved this bed. She couldn't wait to take her daily naps. She loved to crawl into bed and rest. Unlike regular mattresses this mattress was warm and comfy when you get in. She could sleep and sleep and sleep. It was pretty hard to get her out of bed!

Personally, I disliked the pillows that came with the mattress they were very rigid and uncomfortable. So, we purchased new ones, but pillows do not cost a fortune. So, it was only a minor issue.

Life Changing Mattress

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I am a big supporter of Tempurpedic Mattresses.  After only having mine 2 weeks, I can tell a difference in everything about my life.  People had told me that before I bought one, but now that I own one, I can attest to it as well. The amount of sleep may not change all that much, but the quality of sleep is tremendous.  I wake up each day without the usual back pains and little body pains I used to have after a night of sleep.  This makes me feel more alert and ready to start the day after getting such great sleep.  There's no amount of money that can compare to how this bed will make you feel throughout the day.  It is without a doubt, a life-changing purchase. The 20-year warranty is also fantastic because it guarantees you'll always have this amazing mattress within the 20 year span.  That makes it comparable to other mattress prices, as you would most certainly have to replace a mattress within that time.

Tempur-Pedic Mattress - A restful night

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Every night's sleep is a reminder that a good mattress is worth it. Been sleeping on a Tempur-Pedic for the past four years. Sleep is restful. I do not feel my partner's movements and I wake in the morning without being super tired. On the Tempur-Pedic you rarely toss and turn and can sleep for longer periods without sleep interruptions.

Initially I thought the bed to be too hard but after some time your body and the bed adapts to one another like symbiosis. Even during my two pregnancies the mattress took the shape of my new body contours.

Be sure not to move to many times because lifting the mattress will definitely give you a hernea. Very heavy and difficult to move..even making the bed is a task.

While it may be the most expensive mattress you would buy it has a twenty year warranty hence the reason it is such a good investment for a good night sleep. Definitely worth the money in the long run.

can't sleep anywhere else in the house...

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Tempurpedic mattresses are the way to go if you can afford them.  My dad bought one of them when he moved out. He moved back in so I have now abandoned my BeautyRest bed (which was fine) and started to sleep on the spare Tempurpedic. I believe that this bed really minimizes tossing and turning during sleep, mostly due to the memory foam, and I always feel very well rested after waking up.  I tried going back to my BeautyRest bed one night and couldn't do it. I'm really spoiled with this bed.

Biggest con aside from $$$ would be that it takes several people to move the bed (especially if it's a Cali. King size) because it is so incredibly heavy. The first Tempurpedic we bought we received from a warehouse in the winter time and it was frozen for quite a long time, so try to buy it when the temperatures are nice. The cons aren't much of a compromise for the great night's sleep you'll get.

I can't sleep without it!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have been sleeping in heaven for 7 years now.  That's how long I've had our Temperpedic Mattress and Boxsprings.  My husband is a light sleeper and hated my "flailing" about every night as I tend to roll this way and that way during the night.  One of the greatest benefits of the Temperpedic Bed is the fact that motion is not translated to your bed partner.  That being said, this bed is so comfortable that I'm not rolling around as much as before.  You sleep well and are comfortable all night long.  Another benefit is you don't have to fill the mattress like you do other mattresses.  We did this religiously with our other mattress to prolong the usability of it.  If you tend to get hot at night (hot flashes, night sweats), this mattress does retain some heat but honestly you sleep so well that putting up with retained heat is worth it.  If your back or neck is sore, more often than not you wake up without any aches and pains.

Great for the body

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I bought the Tempurpedic Adjustable Bed a while back. Probabley five to ten years ago, not really sure how long I have had it. It is great. When I had to have a bone fusion in my foot, it made sleeping in a bed easier. You can put the head up or down and the same with the feet, up or down. I would put the feet up and the head down so it would keep the swelling in my feet down. When I was working it was great to do the same feet up and head down and when I got up my feet felt like new. It also has vibration in the bed that you can chose to use or not. Now the newer ones have more features but I am very happy with the one I have. It is a very heavy bed so it takes more than one person to move ...
