I bought two of these GE phones after a bad experience with a cheaper brand. I chose GE, because I have had good experience with other small appliances they make, and I've not been disappointed. They have worked very well. The only time I've picked up one that didn't work, I found it had been accidentally disconnected from the telephone jack. I have received two of these phones as gifts. Both of them had poor voice quality. I did not use either a week before discarding it. I have talked to friends who had the same experience with them. I have wondered if the person who gave them to me got them as a prize of some kind. I can't imagine anyone buying them who had done any research on their quality. This phone has few features except being cordless and having a good clock radio. I don't want all the modern features on the phone that is right beside my bed. I had used this phone happily for a few years until the answering machine messages became so scrambled that I couldn't understand them. I took it for repairs and was told that the casette in it was worn out and should be replaced. I bought one, and they replaced it for me. However, it did not help. The messages are just as bad. I tried it for about six months and found it unsatisfactory. The handset worked well for a short period of time.. However, it could be used less than five-minutes with each charge. If left off the base when not in use, it went dead. I tried replacing the battery and that did not help. As they were expensive, I only tried this one time. I was tired of paying for home phone service just because of where I live. I'm one of the few people I knew my age that has a cell phone and a home phone. I always have my computer on so it made since to switch to VOIP.

The place where I work uses the Avaya phones. We have about 25 of them in our office. They seem to have a lot of technical issues, and the company that we got them from ( which I do not know who it is) is not helpful with service.
Uniden - 2.4 Ghz digital
I bought this phone at JC Penney Outlet recently and it was a wonderful deal . The system incldued three additional phones that you plug into any outlet and they all work together . There is a built in digitial answering machine and speakerphone . It is caller ID capable although I don't have that system with my phone service which is optional .
