We bought the Tek Nek Rock-N-Ride pony for our daughter for Christmas. She was only 15 months old at the time, and wasn't very coordinated to stay on it or rock herself. The recommended age is 18 months - 3 years, so she was a little too young for it then. She is now 19 months old and she loves to ride it, but she still cannot get on it by herself. It sits a little too high for her (she is slightly above average height). The horse itself is really soft and cuddly, but the base is made of plastic and can slide very easily on tile or a hardwood floor (we keep our daughter's on carpet!). Each ear has a button that is very easy to push and the pony sings and makes noises - its mouth even moves! There is no volume control and some would consider the volume loud. But the sounds are crisp and clear and my daughter loves to sing along with it. All in all, this is a terrific toy, but could be improved by being lower and having rubber grip pads or something on the bottom of the base to prevent it from sliding on certain surfaces.
