Taylor Swift - Fearless —

Taylor Swift's sophomore album brings back the fresh-faced country singer with a new flair, helping her crossover even more into the pop world, but still providing enough of a country twang to her album to keep her hardcore fans hooked for the long run.  The draw of Swift isn't necessarily because she has the greatest voice, but because she is so much fun to listen to, and because you go into one of her albums knowing that the music is genuine.  With Fearless Swift brings an album where she she composed a majority of the music, and co-wrote all 13 tracks on the album.  That brings her a nice authenticity and helps present an artist that is building up her credentials with each new album.

A number of the tracks from Fearless may come off as being a little filled with teen angst, but songs like Tell Me Whyand up being so catchy that they are fun to sing along with.  The musical accompaniments to her lyrics are very strong on the album, and keeps the toes tapping as the CD plays through.  Those who enjoy Taylor Swift are going to really love her second album, because it is a little stronger than her first one (in my opinion), and continues to show why Swift is going to be one of the hottest commodities in the future of country music.  With so many cross-over songs packed into this album, it is also a sure bet that she is going to keep getting regular radio play on pop stations as well.

Taylor Swift is definitely very talented when it comes to writing and composing songs, and it is easy to see from her work on this album that she will have a future in writing songs for many other acts.  Though she doesn't have the wide range of vocals of some other artists on the scene, you know what you are getting into when you purchase a Taylor Swift album.  With Fearless comes an album that will continue to be successful, and while the young star does seem a little unpolished at times still, she has definitely produced another album that can be called a winner, and one which will keep her fans quite happy with repetitive playback value for some time now.

I agree with Patty...Taylor doesn't try to act like a vamp or be too tarty and wants to be known as a musician. Good call!

I like Taylor because she writes her own songs and she sings like the 19 year old she is. She isn't trying to be a sex kitten or anything, just herself. She's in the #1 spot with this CD and I'm glad.

Amazing review. And she's only 19 now...imagine how great she'll be when her talent matures and her songs reflect her personal growth?
