Along with Martin, Taylor is one of the benchmark companies for acoustic, steel-string guitars. Sure, there are good guitars from many other companies such as Gibson, Guild and others, but almost every decent guitar is eventually compared to a Martin or Taylor. That's why, when I had the chance to spend some time with a Taylor 710CE, I jumped at it.

There's a lot of Taylor haters in PA because it's the home of Martin Guitars. I'll be the first to say that the best Martin has nothing--nothing-- on a 7 or 8 series Taylor. While I play an 8 series, I tried out several 710 and 714 Taylors before buying. I actually prefer the sound of a 7 series over my 8 series because of the superior clarity and crispness of the higher strings. The lower register is very resonant-- not muddy sounding like many other guitars in need of new strings. I'm big on the aesthetics, so the basic circle-shaped pearl abalone inlays weren't very appealing. And I've never...

Taylor is one of the nicest brands in acoustic guitars.
I have played many different types of Taylor made guitars, and they, next to Martin, have the fullest sound and are comfortable to play
The Taylor 710ce Acoustic Guitar is a great guitar for a beginner. Maybe even an ameture however it is not pro quality. That does not mean that this guitar is bad. This guitar has a weaker bridge and softer tuning keys but thats ok cause if your new at it thats what you want.
