The easiest & fastest tax season ever for us!

Tax time again - 2008! I was looking for an inexpensive, easy website to do my taxes on. I began by going to irs.gov on the Internet, and clicked on "free e-file." It's a great place to start, and they give you many choices of companies. There were requirements such as an age limit and adjusted gross income below a certain amount. After setting up an account with them using my email address I could keep track of the refund process right up till the time of payment. We fit the criteria, picked the company, TaxAct, and began the task.

Satisfied for 3 years+ for various levels of tax prep

I'm an average taxpayer who has used this service for 3 years now. I have used it during transition from a simply prepared 1040EZ to more complicated tax preparation including itemized deductions and self-employment. TaxAct is easy, clear, affordable and fast. You could probably find these services somewhere a little cheaper than the $15 they charge you, but to me it is well worth the price to know that you are getting a solid service, with plenty of help files and documentation to explain your entries, and the assurance that your payment or refund will be processed promptly. Best Tax Prep Bargain Out There!!

I've used Taxact for five years now and it has been very efficient and cost effective. I have downloaded the $20.00 version every year and have had minimal problems with it. Now there is a free version available online(it's been there for two years I think) and I'm looking to use it next year. In the download version you can import previous tax returns that will bring everything from the simple(your name) to the more complicated(employer tax ID number). I have been using this product for about 8 years now and I really love it. It is very easy to work with and it goes through and asks questions so you won't miss anything. I think it is a good value too, for 19.95 you get the federal and state edition and one free e-file. I can also do my taxes and my moms, my sons and his girlfriends with the download version. There is no limit on how many returns you do but you can only do up to five e-files. I have tried other programs such as Turbo Tax and Tax Slayer and I think Tax Act is the easiest by far.

I've used TaxAct online to prepare my taxes for the past 3 years now. It is very thorough and takes you through all the steps and questions then fills in your returns for you for free--only charges if you want to e-file--which the program takes care for you. It also does a check at the end to look for mistakes. All along the way, it displays what your refund is or what you owe for federal and state taxes too. I would highly recommend it if your taxes are simple or not too, too complicated. I still itemize a lot and think it's pretty easy to do on here.

I approached TaxAct with some trepidation - I was trying to understand how it could be so inexpensive (it's FREE if you have a basic return!) yet capable of doing the job. I was very pleasantly surprised. The interface is easy, the questions well-organized, and the use is easy. Once I had my documentation together, it only took a few hours to get the job done. It was essentially painless. I liked the little "status indicator" up in the corner, which keeps a continuous display of your refund (or what you owe). All in all, I recommend it.

TaxAct has been my choice for filing taxes for seven years straight. TaxAct holds your hand and walks you though filing, giving you options to upgrade and to double check your information before submitting. You can always go back and review, correct, add, etc. For your convenience, TaxAct also shows you any warnings where you may have neglected to input information before submitting your return. After comparing this program to a nationally well known tax preparer, TaxAct gets my family the most money back every time!

We used tax act this year and it was great. Very easy user friendly. Did not take long at all. We use to go toa tax preparer and wait for ever to be helped then you had to give them all your information. It took hours and was a night mare. With taxact you do it at home on your time schedule. You can start and stop at your leisure. The directions are very simple to follow and every thing was numbered in accordance with tour w 2's. I have never used a tax product that was so easy and so user friendly.

I used TaxAct oline to file my boyfriends taxes, this year i even showed him just how much of a no brainer it was compared to other online tax prep sites. It was great he felt as smart as me doing his own taxes. It's quick you can do from the comfort of your home in your pjs no hassel and they have online chat if you need assistance!! For less than $10 he was able to file his federal and state taxes. It's great we've used them 3 years and counting..........

Just a quick review of some great software here. I've been using this program for about 4 years now, and have never had any problems with it. The developer makes great updates to the software every year, and it has met all of my tax needs very well. Easy to use, user friendly, and you can even file your taxes online and get notified as to when the irs has recieved your tax return as well as an estimated date to recieve your refund.

A very easy to use program even for those with little tax knowledge. It's quick to use and does all the work for you at a very reasonable price. Both federal and state can be done at the same time online. It's easy to print out and save for future reference. It's safe and fills in all the blanks and calculates everything as you go along. Was recommended by a friend and I'm very glad I tried it. I will continue to use in the coming years.

I have used TaxACT online filing for the past three years and it has been a breeze! It's free to use, free to e-file, and has an alert system at the end to make sure you didn't forget anything that might send up an audit flag for the IRS.

The program will constanly offer an upgrade by listing potential benefits, but if your tax situation is relatively simple...the free version is just fine.

I will continue to use TaxACT until my dying day!

I have been using TaxAct Online for 5 years now. It saves all of your information from the previous years and makes filing your taxes fast and easy. I am not good with numbers and would never have thought that I could do itemized taxes, but TaxAct makes it easy. The program walks you through each step and asks all the right questions to be sure you get the maximum return. Now, I do the taxes for me and my husband and he has a master's degree in business!
