I've used Taxact for five years now and it has been very efficient and cost effective. I have downloaded the $20.00 version every year and have had minimal problems with it. Now there is a free version available online(it's been there for two years I think) and I'm looking to use it next year. In the download version you can import previous tax returns that will bring everything from the simple(your name) to the more complicated(employer tax ID number). All you really have to do each year is edit your W2 info. The program goes through all deductions step by step to make sure you don't miss any and then when you are done it will tell you if which way to file to get the most on your return(married vs single, standard vs itemize). It doesn't get much simpler than this.
