Quick View: I rarely apply makeup without using a primer first. I have a few faves but wanted to try a natural one so I chose Tarte Clean Slate t5 Infused Natural Face Primer to try. I like it! It gives my face a great canvas to apply makeup and doesn't clog my pores at all.

My Take on Tarte Clean Slate t5 Infused Natural Face Primer

This primer is clear and is propylene glycol free, preservative free, phthalate free, dye free, sulfate free, mineral oil free, fragrance free, and dermatologist tested. It has a load of good for your skin ingredients in it such as avocado oil, echinacea root extract, rosemary leaf extract, and Tarte's exclusive t5 complex which is a blend of five anti-oxidizing fruits.

All that is great but not if the primer doesn't work or causes breakouts. I pretty much stick to just a couple of primers that I know work for me so I was a little leery of what Tarte could do. The primer is clear and has a silicone base. That makes it slide over my skin and fill in little lines and creases as it forms a clear layer between my skin and the makeup that I will apply.

I love how my face feels when I use Tarte Clean Slate t5 Infused Natural Face Primer. It's silky smooth and soft. I don't feel any oils in this (although it has some in it) and my skin is not greasy. I apply foundation over it and it stays on all day long, no matter what brand it is. All my makeup stays fresh and just applied and my skin looks radiant. I have never had any adverse reactions to the primer and it washes off just fine.

I like that Tarte Clean Slate t5 Infused Natural Face Primer is natural but it is not paraben free. That's too bad because the ingredients list looks good otherwise: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Mica, Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado), Carthamus Tinctorius Seed Oil (Safflower), Echinacea Angustifolia Extract, Centella Asiatica, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract (Rosemary), Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract, Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil (Grape), Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Malpighia Punicifolia Fruit Extract (Acerola), Punica Granatum Extract/Punica Granatum, Passiflora Incarnata Fruit Extract, Propylparaben, Butylparaben.

Although this primer is pricey ($27.00 for 1.6 ounces), it is very concentrated and just a half of a pea sized amount will cover my face completely and last all day. I got my tube on sale and will wait for another sale to repurchase. I rarely buy anything for full price unless I love it SO much that I can't live without it and have to have it right away.

This is a very good for your skin and good to your skin primer. If you're looking for something more natural to prime your face, give Tarte Clean Slate t5 Infused Natural Face Primer a try. It's great for all skin types.

My Viewpoint

I like Tarte Clean Slate t5 Infused Natural Face Primer and feel it works very well at priming my skin, filling in lines and creases, making my skin tone even and keeping makeup in place for many hours. The ingredients are better than in most cosmetics and a little goes a long way. A tube is pricey but it lasts for ages. 4 stars.

My preacher used to say some ladies wear enough makeup to paint a battleship and enough powder to blow it up. Helllloooo, you have now introduced the primer :+) Kaboom!!

Face primer is like a base coat for nails before polish. It's clear and it smooths the skin and provides a layer between makeup and the skin. I have dry skin and it would literally drink up my make up.I could see it in my pores. Gross. With primer, I have an invisible shield against that so my makeup stays fresh and lasts a lot longer than usual. There are many different primers and really most work well. Avon has one that some like a lot and it is quite inexpensive. Once you use primer, it's hard to go back to putting makeup on unprimed skin.

I never heard of face primer, this may sound stupid, but why use a primer? This product sounds very interesting by your review, which is very nice.
