I bought this at my university's bookstore and it's been extremely helpful. The re-tractability of the mouse is great and it never gets stuck. I use the mouse all the time and it really helps me as I don't really like touch-pads on laptops too much. The only downside to this mouse is that after extended use, your hand might cramp up slightly. This tends to happen to me while using Photoshop or something other graphic editing program where I constantly use the mouse. For something like that, I recommend a larger mouse.

I got this mouse to go with my netbook or laptop, but didn't really expect much from it--I mean, this thing is just 2 and 1/2 inches long!  Wow though, it was so easy to set up; you just seriously plug and play.  This is something that many products claim, but don't necessarily deliver.  No drivers, no software, no nothin'. (On my netbook anyway).  The retractable cord is amazingly long, and reaches almost 2 feet, which gives you quite a bit of mobility to move around.  It also pulls out and retracts with ease, which is great because the retractable part sometimes just plain gets stuck.  It scrolls great too, and worked right away scrolling my internet pages.  I'll admit, the touch pad for scrolling gets annoying to me, but I suppose I am just not used to it.  The really cool part about this little mouse is that the optical sensor seems to work on *any *(flat) surface.  Out of curiosity I tried it out on my trashcan, my leather boot, my bedspread, my hand, a book, etc.  This little trooper picked up a signal no matter where I put it and I was able to move the cursor with ease--amazing!  This is going to be great to use, and I would not hestitate to purchase this as a gift!
