Targus Chill Mat PA248U Laptop Cooler Review

I earned enough money freelance writing to finally afford a new laptop!!!!  The problem is...I never owned a laptop before and didn't know much about them.  I promptly took my laptop home and began using it on surfaces like my lap, a pillow, my table, etc.  I began noticing that I was getting very hot using my laptop.  Curious, but I thought nothing of it.

My very smart husband presented me with a Targus Chill Mat for Mother's Day.  I had no idea what it was.  Well, it is PURE GENIUS, that's what it is!

The Targus Chill Mat plugs into the USB port on the side of the laptop.  The other side of the plug connects into the back of the chill mat.  The chill mat sits underneath the laptop as you work, and the dual fans on thee mat keep the laptop running a cool temperature, therefore, allowing it to work more efficiently.

Here's what I didn't know about laptops!  They can overheat when you do what I was doing.  Placing them on things like pillows, or your lap, they are getting no air circulation and the hard drive can overheat.  Makes sense now, but I did not know that!  If you own a laptop, you need to invest in this product!

The chill mat runs so quietly, you don't even know it's there.  However, if it were to accidentally become unplugged, you'll know it because you'll feel the immediate rise in temperature.  The Targus Chill Mat protects your workspace and desktop surfaces from heat, and is VERY EASY TO USE.  You don't install any software, or download any programs.  Just plug it in, and place it under the laptop.  There are two rubber "grooves" that hold the laptop in place, so you can eliminate the worry of it slipping around.  It doesn't move at all when placed on the chill mat.

The price?  Unbelievably, the price is under $ 30.00!  The Targus Chill  Mat is a wise investment, and for such a low price, you'd be sorry if you didn't get one.  Protect your laptop, and all the information inside of it, by spending very little money on the chill mat.  My husband won BIG brownie points with this gift!!!

** I enthusiastically recommend this product to ANYONE that owns a laptop computer.  As far as I'm concerned, it is a MUST HAVE.
