unique items VS other mass merchants

I enjoy shopping at Target for the most part. They have more unique items than time you can find in most mass merchants. Every time I shop there, I find myself wishing they had layaway, since their prices are typically higher (because the quality is there).

Their customer service desk leaves a lot to be desired. They tend to make me feel like a criminal for making a return. The 2 non-receipt returns per year at a max of 19.99 each is ridiculous! I don't understand why the price limit when you have to spend the merchandise credit in their store anyway.

We registered with them for our new baby. Thank goodness most of the items we needed to exchange came with gift receipts! I had to use my 2 non-receipt returns to cover $25 worth of merchandise. How silly.
