I do not often suffer from heartburn. But when I do, it hits pretty hard, and I want something that's fast and effective at giving relief. So I use this Tums extra strength antacid, since it works the best for me out of the antacids that I have tried. Effectiveness When heartburn does hit, it is usually very hard, so I need something strong enough to take care of it. After trying several different kinds of antacids, these Tums are the ones that work the best. Ease of Use I don't mind taking pills or chewing tablets very much, and these tablets are extremely easy for me to chew and swallow. The one complaint that I have about them is that they can have a little bit of a chalky flavor and texture that is not very enjoyable. But this is not a serious problem. It's more an irritation than a hindrance to using them. Immediacy Out of all the different kinds of antacids that I have tried, this one was fastest in both how quickly it began to work and also how quickly it completely got rid of heartburn.

Tums is perfect for when you need a quick fix to heartburn. I take stronger heartburn medications that usually prevent me from having heartburn, however if I run out of my medication Tums helps treat the heartburn instantly for at least two hours. I also actually really like the taste of Tums. It tastes like you are eating candy instead of medicine. It does not have that chalky taste that some other heartburn medicines have. Effectiveness Tums is very effective. It helps my heartburn almost instantly. It does not last all day though, but it works for at least two hours. Ease of Use Tums is very easy to use. You just chew the tablet and it dissolves very quickly. Immediacy Tums give me an almost instant relief to my heartburn!

I never have heartburn so I am fortunate, and the reason I started to take Tums was that my doctor told me that Tums was easier and tastier and better for you to take for calcium that the calcium supplements. Calcium can cause constipation as well when you take it in the calcium supplement form but not when you take Tums. They taste good and are easy on the digestive system. My son who does get heartburn when he eats too many tomato based food loves Tums for his heartburn. He takes one or two and in a little while his heartburn is gone and he feels a lot better. They are not expensive either and are priced about the same as the store brands. They come in a variety of flavors and I usually get the assorted flavors. It is a good thing that I know they are not candy or I would eat a lot of them they taste so good. They are not chalky or dry and are easy to chew and swallow. A classic medication to temporarily relieve heartburn. I had used them once in a great while to cure very infrequent heartburn. However, when I became pregnant I immediately discontinued the use of this an all other medications. As many pregnant women will attest to I began to have much more frequent heartburn, which eventually occurred every day. I was happy to hear that this product was one of the only products I could take throughout my entire pregnancy. It relieved the heartburn and made my life manageable. It also made me happy to know they would not harm my daughter. The only problem is the taste/consistency. They are rather chalky tasting and the consistency made them difficult to swallow on occasion. Overall a great product and helped me get extra calcium too. Immediacy Very quick

I was surprised to learn that a friend's doctor had recommended **Tums** as a viable calcium supplement.  Turns out  there is some merit to this -- **Tums** are cheaper and easier for some people to take than the sometimes very large "horse" pills like Caltrate and other forms of calcium.  To tell you the truth, I never had tasted Glaxo Smith Kline's famous antacid before and -- after doing some research on the Internet -- I picked up a roll of **Tums E-X 750 Extra Strength Antacid/Calcium Supplement** in the ***Assorted Berries ***flavor.  **WHAT THESE ARE:** **Tums E-X 750 Extra Strength Antacid/Calcium Supplement** are pleasantly flavored but hard lozenges.  (Don't try to chew them without sucking them for a while first.)  Their active ingredient is Calcium Carbonate (chalk) which some doctors believe is not always as easily absorbed by the body as Calcium Citrate.  However, it is worth noting that Calcium Carbonate is the form found in the popular calcium supplement known as Caltrate.  (Inactive ingredients in **Tums** include adipic acid, artificla flavors and dyes, corn starch, mineral oil, sodium polyphosphate, sucrose, and talc.)  Three **Tums** a day are recommended to achieve daily 600 mg. of elemental calcium. **MY VIEWPOINT:** The three **Tums E-X 750 Extra Strength Antacid/Calcium Supplement** I sucked down today were pleasant tasting and something I could easily handle on a daily basis.  However, I think I will stick with either Caltrate or various store brands of 600 + D Calcium Supplements as I think the combination of Calcium and Vitamin D is important and no form of Tums contains Vitamin D.  I must admit that **Tums E-X 750 Extra strength Antacid/Calcium Supplement** lozenges are economically priced and easier for some people to take.  For those reasons, I have to respect the recommendation of my friend's doctor this as a viable alternative for certain consumers. Effectiveness There is no doubt that Tums contains calcium -- and of course, they are effective for the purpose for which they were designed, to ease indigestion -- but I personally will stick with 600 + D Calcium tablets which are more effective as a source of calcium. Ease of Use The Tums tablets seemed hard and involved a lot of sucking to get them to the chewable stage. Immediacy I'm not sure about this as I have never used Tums to relieve indigestion.

I am not a person that has heatburn all of the time. I really don't have it very often. However, when it did hit, I wanted something to alleviate the pain and uneasiness immediately. Tums was recommended to me by a co-worker. I now keep Tums E-X 750 Extra-Strength (with calcium) in my medicine cabinet for such emergencies. I have found that when I take a couple at the onset of heartburn symptoms, it works fast! I have been most pleased with this product, and highly recommend it to everyone. I have even found out from one of my Master Gardener friends, that they use these Tums EX with calcium in their garden! Yes, I said garden. When you are planting your tomatoes, drop one in the hole with the young plant. I tried it, and it was amazing. Try it, you will be impressed with the results.

Tums E-X 750 Extra Strength antacid is just the remedy when you are expericing that heavy heartburn. I have boughten these on sale many times at my local pharmacy and used coupons to keep the cost down. I really like the berry flavor, but my husband enjoys the tropical flavor. No matter how much my chest or stomach may feel like a firey stove has been lite, the tums e-x 750 extra strength has always put out that fire, clamed my stomach, and felt like the spring rains refreshing me. I have not expereince that chalky taste with these tums like i have from other brands. and i love the fact that while i take a couple of tums to calm a firey stomach, i am getting a bit of calcuim that i know my body will need

It isn't everyday that I have stomach pains, but when I do I really hate them and want FAST relief! There is just about nothing worse than feeling sick to your stomach - blah! Growing up Tums (or the like) were never in our household, but after marrying my husband we have them all the time. I can't count the times when I've felt sick to my stomach and been able to walk to our cabinet and grab a few Tums to soothe my tummy. Growing up I would have just had to bare the pain - how horrible! The Tums are chalky (that is the point and reason they help ha) but their flavoring has definitely improved over the years! My husband actually enjoys eating them and wishes he could eat them like candy. Tums E-X 750 Extra Strength antacid is a good product to have in you medicine cabinet. I say this because there have been times when I have eaten something and later when I go to bed boy do I get heartburn. It is those times when I get up and chew one or two Tums E-X 750 Extra Strength antacid and the heartburn is gone within minutes. The Tums that I have are the assorted fruit flavor and they do taste good. I like the have a choice of flavors when it comes to what I eat and that goes for my Tums E-X 750 Extra Strength antacid too. The bottle that I have is the big bottle with 96 tablets in it. Tums E-X 750 Extra Strength antacid also have calcium in them too which also makes them good for you because the are a calcium supplement. I use to just lay awake at night and suffer before I bought Tums E-X 750 Extra Strength antacid but now if I eat something that does not agree with me I don't have to feel bad all night long.
