4+4 Shampoo is a no-frills shampoo
Let me begin by saying, this product may either be discontinued OR only available through dedicated beauty supply stores and thus not commonly available - and that said, about being sold at beauty supply stores, and with the product's name implying salon/professional standard level results, I was expecting a bit more. The first impression I get of a shampoo is the aroma, and this one I moderately like. It is kind of milk & almond - without any nice honey notes to make it delicious - and just very clean, and the smell is not powerful and doesn't (I don't think) linger after showering. I prefer to smell something delicious while shampooing - and long after - so I was disappointed. However, it's a shampoo I would say guys could feel comfortable using because I would say it's a clean, fairly unisex scent (and also, the bottle is just clear with dark blue labeling with white writing so it's something a guy wouldn't be embarrased to have in his shower). The second thing that needs saying about this is, the formula is freakishly thick (even ...gummy) - like, a struggle to squeeze out of the bottle and then to, when wet, spread around in your hair. I like a more viscous "gelee" (or a creamy formula) so I'm just ...not stoked about using this one like I like to be about whatever shampoo I'm using. And lastly, sadly (I don't know if it's the thick/not easy to spread texture or the formula/ingredients or a combination of both, but), this leaves some kind of residue when I rinse that, I guess it cleans my hair but it feels a little unusual. And it also does something that makes my wet hair have "friction" (follow me in hopes you might know what I mean) so that when I'm running my fingers through the (wet) hair by my ears, my fingers catch in my hair and it pulls my hair and hurts and I have to be careful of that. Maybe if I paired this with the matching conditioner, it would give glorious results and I'd be like "a-ha!" (and have to take back this review!) but, as a shampoo alone, this one is just acceptable and I am only using up my (GIANT) bottle because, it does an (barely) acceptable job of cleaning my hair and I don't want to waste and add to the earth's burden, but I wouldn't really buy this again (sorry...) should I see it available... but **I do want to say that it is my understanding that the company that makes this, does not test on animals, and that is kind of a huge thing for me, so I would give OTHER Tresemme products (the kind I see in the drugstore) a try, and I hope my review doesn't discourage anyone from supporting Tresemme :)**
