I have wavy hair that tends to get frizzy at the slightest provocation. I use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners each day, but my hair still wants to look like it is a dried out mess. I've taken to using "finishing" creams after blow-drying and styling my hair in an attempt to keep things smooth and calm.
Tigi BED HEAD After Party Smoothing Cream is the latest such styling product that I've tried. It costs about $18 at Target (more in salons) and comes in a very phallic-looking pink container. According to the description on the bottle, this finishing cream makes hair smooth and leaves it silky, shiny, and healthy-looking. This is supposed to be sold exclusively in hair salons, but I've seen it sold in Target and even the local grocery store.
After blow-drying my hair, I always use one pump's worth of Bed Head After Party. I rub it across my palms and the backs of my hands and then work it through my shoulder-length hair. One pump of After Party is enough to leave my hair smooth and with a bit of extra shine. You do have to be careful not to use too much, though, because it will weigh down your hair and make it look greasy rather than shiny and healthy. Trust me, I speak from experience.
I've tried a few other Tigi BED HEAD products in the past and have been unimpressed with them, but After Party seems to be a winner. It really is a great finishing cream that smoothes hair and leaves it with a nice bit of shine. The price and bottle-style both made me do a double-take, but after using it for over a month, I'm now okay with those issues. I was quickly willing to get over them once I realized how effective it is. Recommended!
