I started trading with TDAmeritrade and it gives various research ideas and details on all stocks. Very useful but the broker commission is more than other brokerage firms.

I also use TDAmeritrade and have for 2 years now. I am very happy with the company except like you mentioned I pay $9.99 a trade which has added up now that I am trading alot. I can tell you how to get 30 days of free trading and $100 from them. Good luck on your trading.
