TARGET Casual Home Bath Towel Sets —

Theresa, my painter/friend and I redecorated "The Wind and Water Room" early in 2008.  The muted aqua colors turned out beautifully.  Theresa finished the woodwork in an ivory white.

Soon after, I began forming my "Goodwill Collection" -- paintings of wind and water-related subjects -- on the longest, unbroken wall.  I also began hunting for aqua towels that would match or subtly complement these walls.

Too bad for me!  Aqua towels in a moderate price range and quality cloth simply didn't seem to be out there.

Then, late last spring, TARGET came out with a line of bath sets in luscious colors including Caribbean Aqua.  "Pitty-pat"!  I purchased two sets on the spot.  This spring I added two more.  The design of the bands has changed, but the color is still perfect.

Today, six-piece Casual Home Bath Sets are available only online through either TARGET or Amazon.com.  Two washcloths, two hand towels, and two bath towels sell for $24.99.  (You can also order matching bath rugs and lid covers.)

The Casual Home bath and hand towels have considerable substance.  The bath towel measures a generous 30x54" and the hand towel, 16x30".  I'm least impressed with the washcloths which are smallish, hemmed rather than whipstitched (this makes them bulky) and not truly square (although they are officially described as 12x12").

I'm saving the bulky matching cloths for company.  I now use lighter, whipstitched wash cloths, almost identical in color.  I found them at TARGET, too -- in a cheapy, pre-packaged wash cloth stack.

Casual Home towels breeze through hot-water washes (though it seems to me the labels recommend warm).  The towels haven't faded nor have they ever left irritating little particles on items in my wash.  Since I hang my laundry, I can't personally vouch for Casual Home towels in the dryer, but I have read good reports on Amazon.

I'll post some of the towel colors with their delicious names above.  I'm really sold on this product!

I'm sort of conservative too but let's face it, I know my bathroom is going to probably be pink and gray for years and that I will use towels for all that time. So when I saw pink, rose and gray suddenly hit the skids as popular towel colors (or as towel colors at all!) I put the pedal to the metal and bought a lot of them. Now I can be REALLY conservative and not buy towels at all again for a long time. You made a really good choice and if I were you, I'd stock up. Again, I loved the review!

You know me -- a conservative spender. I was lucky it worked out. I probably should buy another set next time I get over there. Or am I pushing my luck???

For some reason I am just MAD about reviews about towels and I really enjoyed this. Good old Target. I was to suggest though that -- when you find a great color like this that really matches -- you should just do whatever you can to go ahead and buy all you're going to need as colors seem to come and go with towels. I wish the rest of the gang here at ViewPoints could see how great that bathroom of yours is!
