I wanted a new smart phone that would let me transfer the programs from my old PDA, but T-Mobile is not currently offering any Palm phones. When I called about buying a generic phone from the mfr, I got lots of help.
For starters, I got a Real Live Human in just a minute or two. And he was polite, patient, and helpful. I got the distinct impression he was more interested in answering my question, than in keeping his seconds-per-call average down. He even reviewed my account, and made sure I was using the best plan for my needs.
Whether I'm on the phone, or at the T-Mobile store, I get great service. These people are all well-trained, and enthusiastic. They didn't even laugh at me when I ran my last phone through the wash. I've been a customer for 10 years, and I'm not planning on switching.
Every time I read an article on how to handle surprise or hidden cell phone fees, my jaw drops. I have never seen any of these weird charges from the Twilight Zone on my bill. T-Mobile is apparently happy with the amount of money I agreed to pay for my monthly service, and doesn't feel the need to dream up fancy ways to nickel-and-dime me to death.
