T-Mobile - Sidekick 2 Cell Phone —
The Sidekick 2 is a great phone for someone who utilizes SMS messages and needs email, internet and a way to send pictures while on the go.
The keyboard is the largest and most comfortable that I have ever used on a phone and the phone software automatically corrects common capitalization and punctuation errors ( you can add more rules for it to correct words that you usually mis-type too). The screen swivels open in one of the coolest looking ways a phone can open. It takes a little getting used to but once you're familiar you'll open and close it one handed with no problem. The camera takes adequate pictures (much better than my treo 600 did) and has a flash along with several settings for ambient light. The camera does not take video and the Sidekick cannot play video. There are a nice selection of sounds pre-installed and they play as loud as you need them to. You can download song clips and sounds from Tmobile for about $2 each and sadly that is the only way to get them since unlike many phones you cannot add ringtones via a website or use mp3 files. Most websites work well even if the formatting loks a bit off. I use mine all the time to check recipies and get directions and store hours when on the road. AIM works flawlessly and can be left running all the time. There is also a calendar with alarms, to do list, notepad, games, and email. The real star of the show (beyond the communication) is the software and how thoughtfully it is designed. When you first start using it and don't know where to look for a feature your first or second guess is usually right. The UI is very user friendly and in no time at all you feel like a pro. This is where most other cell phones fall apart. Most phones make you jump through a ton of menus and search all over to do the simplest things while the sidekick seems to work for you putting all the options that you need right where you need them.
There are some things that other phones and smart phones do better but the total package of the Sidekick 2 more than makes up for its short comings.
If you're in the market i'd definately look into the sidekick 3 or lx models since they've improved them even more (adding mp3 and a hi-def screen).

I have thought about getting this. I now have an LG Chocolate and it's complicated! I have Verizon service and I don't think they support this phone. Good review!
