T-Mobile - G1 Cell Phone Review

I opted on the G1 phone when I had the chance to open a new contract with TMobile.  Everyone raved about their Iphones but I just found not having a keyboard would severely limit my ability to do anything besides make phone calls, so I went with this G1 phone.

The phone comes ready to go, you just charge it and its ready.  There are the standard features, full keyboard if you slide up the screen, and also a touch screen.  This phone does come with a camera, but it's not the best. The features are fairly simple to operate, and you have access to email, instant messaging, web browser, and maps at the tip of your fingers.  If you go on Imeem Marketplace you have the option of downloading other applications that may interest you. Most are free.  I have gotten a few games and also Myspace, Facebook, and a weather application. One cool feature on this phone is the price finder, in which you can scan a barcode and then it compares prices of an item among other stores.

 It's a bit heavy for a phone, but it's also very durable.  Mine has been dropped several times and it still works and looks like new. The QWERTY keyboard has big enough keys to be operational and easy to use, and the whole phone is pretty self explanatory. I love being able to access the internet on a whim, and not even have to worry about a wi-fi connection. (of course to do this you need to purchase the G1 internet package at 24.99 a month with Tmobile, but it has been well worth it. 

One small downside to this phone is when you are using the internet and texting a lot, the battery life is short.  I would recommend getting a car charger so you can plug it in on the go.

 Overall I LOVE this phone! I would never consider any other phone after having this one.  Service is always great and I love all the bells and whistles!
