Anyhow, I pre-ordered my phone and received it 10/21/2008. The G1 Google phone was everything I would hope it would be. It had the functionality of a smart phone, the ease of use and full-qwerty board like the Sidekick and best of all, it was a touch screen. My favorite thing about the phone is the Android Market. The G1 is on an open platform and any developer can create an application for the phone. Since I've received the phone, dozens of applications have been added to the marketplace. Best of all, these apps are free!
Some of the things I didn't like about the phone is that the apps cannot be saved onto the expandable micro SD card. With the amount of apps being developed, you really have to pick and choose which apps you want on your phone all the time. Another thing I didn't like about the phone is that the keyboard feels flimsy. I feel like if I press the keys too hard, they will get stuck. Another downside is that the phone does not run Microsoft programs such as Word or Excel.
Other than those minor things (which I'm sure someone will fix), the G1 is a great phone.
