T-Fal Toaster - Avanti 4 Slice Toaster Review

For a long time we have tried to stick with our run of the mill Toaster Oven when requiring toast.  Our Black & Decker has served us well.

But, with my daughter growing older and often having friends stay over, the demand for toast exceeds our Toaster Oven's capacity.  We caved in and decided a dedicated Toaster was in order.  While our Toaster oven boasted a 4 slice capacity, that just wasn't true.

We knew that we needed a machine that could handle at least 4 slices at a time and could produce toast quickly.  That's just what we found when we stumbled upon the T-Fal Avanti, 4 Slice Toaster.

With it's stylish stainless-steel finish it fits nicely with all of our newer appliances.  It makes short work of toasting 4 slices of bread at a time.  Although my favorite is rye toast with seeds, a toaster wouldn't last a weekend here if it didn't work equally well on bagels.  We're a big bagel family here.

The Avanti handles bagels extremely well.  It toasts both sides of the bagel to a reasonably unifom level of crispness.

Often our Black & Decker Toaster Oven would toast one side perfectly only to either under toast the other, or worse incinerate it.

Reservations

Unless you're willing to take it out and put it back when finished (and I'm not sure who is) understand that this baby occupies valuable counter-space.  Just no getting around that.  Fortunately, we have plenty of it or it could represent a problem.  Remember, this is merely a toaster.  It won't replace your Toaster or Convection oven for portion reheating.

Then there's price.  We got ours on special for about $55.00.  More often it is sold for between $65 - $75.  Pricey for a toaster.

My Viewpoint

Okay, we needed it, we bought it and we like it.  If you are in the need for a dedicated toaster that can produce 4 slices at a time, I think you'll like it too.
