Most Helpfulnorton anitvirus was put on free went i got my new laptop... at start up it would slow down my laptop because it had to do updates. it also asked for permisson to do things that i felt it just should have done on it own. when the year was up on my free norton anitvirus i was happy... i didnt like it...
review »When I first got my computer, I downloaded a FREE AntiVirus program from Road Runner. I think it was McAffee. Well, I contracted a virus within the first month and had to have my entire computer emptied out and "disinfected".
Afterwards, I spent the money for Norton, and haven't had any trouble since. When I'm using Norton, I know it's watching out for me. It lets me know when there's been a threat to my computer, or when I'm about to go on a site that isn't safe. I get updates automatically, and notices when my service is about to expire. That way, I'm never without protection.

review »I just finished using Symantec's instant online chat tech support. Sunil was able to answer all my questions about what to do in the event of a computer crash and loss of the Norton AntiVirus software I had downloaded.
-Re-install Windows XP.
-Go to Symantec for "Trailware." (It took me awhile to understand that the word was Trialware.)
-Download Trialware.
-Enter my product key and recover my subscription.
I can do that. Nifty.
