Swiffer WetJet Starter Kit® —

Swiffer WetJet Starter KitLet's get one thing straight here- I hate to clean. I work full-time and have a family. When I am home, I do not want to be in the house cleaning. I like being outdoors with my children. So anything that makes cleaning easier, I love. But I am a big skeptic also. I don't believe all the ads. I must try and see, before I believe.

Recently my Clorox Wet Mop broke and I needed to replace it. I liked my Wet Mop but didn't love it enough that I had to have another one. I just needed something similar. I came across the Swiffer Wet Jet and with some thought, decided to give it a try.

Included in your Swiffer Wet Jet box is the Wet Jet mop, a container of cleaning solution, four AA batteries and six cleaning pads. All these components come in a purple box that you can not miss on the shelves of the store.

Out of the box, the Swiffer Wet Jet needed to be assembled. It comes in three pieces which need to be screwed together. Screw the three pieces together, snap in a cleaning solutions bottle and press on a pad and you are ready to go. You will also need to place the batteries in their compartment so you can use the sprayer.

The Sweeper is lightweight and easy to use. My five year old even likes washing the floor with this. You can easily maneuver it all around the kitchen. He also likes to chase the dog with it but that is a different story. The sweeper has a flexible swivel head so you can easily get into the corners.

The cleaning solution comes ready to use. It's a 33.8 oz bottle that you turn upside down and snap into its case. The cleaner can be safely used on stone, linoleum, ceramic tile, marble or vinyl floors. They do make a cleaner for hardwood floors too.

As I stated previously I owned a Clorox Ready Mop and I like the scent of the Swiffer Wet Jet better. It's not too "perfumey" or strong and it leaves a room smelling clean and fresh.

The cleaning pads are super absorbent, triple layered, disposable pads that snap right onto the bottom of your sweeper. Place a pad on the floor and put the sweeper on the pad, and magic- it sticks. With these pads not only do they clean well, they help the floor dry even faster.

OK the sweeper is ready to use, so use it! I always vacuum my floors first before mopping. Then I spray, mop and toss. Yes it is that easy! There is a button on the handle that you push to release the cleaning solution unto your floor, spray the intended area and mop. When you are finished mopping, removing the cleaning pad and toss in the trash. There is no rinsing or "sticky" feeling when you are done.

I know what you are thinking. I can get rid of that bucket and old mop. Well the old mop can go but I recommend keeping the bucket. Personally I think the Swiffer Wet Jet is wonderful but I don't feel like it "deep cleans" my floors. I still find it necessary to wash my floor monthly, on my hands and knees, to get that ground in dirt out. I have white and gray tile in my kitchen and bathroom and it seems that the dirt gets ground into the tile. If I don't wash it by hand monthly it starts looking dirty. Maybe this is just me, because no one else thinks my floor looks dirty but I notice it. Nothing beats washing the floor on your hands and knees!

I use my Swiffer Wet Jet almost daily. I normally mop up every evening before going to bed. It is that quick and easy to use. The Wet Jet also comes in handy when the dog and kids are playing in the mud and run into the house. Whip out the wet jet and mop it up.

I love that the Wet Jet is lightweight. My children can use it and it is easy to carry from room to room. It also has a hole in the handle for easy storing.

There is one thing I would change about the Wet Jet, the position of the button for spraying the cleaning solution. I always seem to "bump" it while mopping. Not that this is a big problem, just a minor inconvenience.

Another negative for some may be that you need to buy replacement cleaning solution and pads. These are relatively inexpensive and can be purchased at most retail and grocery stores. There are always coupons for these refills also. So I watch for a sale and use coupons to get them for the cheapest cost possible.

So if you are like me and don't like to clean, if you are looking for a quick easy solution, the Swiffer Wet Jet is for you. It makes cleaning up easy!

If you don't have a Swiffer Wet Jet, I highly recommend you get one. They are lightweight, quick and easy to use for that daily cleaning.
