Swiffer WetJet® Review

I'm into anything and everything that will make my life easier.  Sometimes there's just too much to try to get done in a day!  So I easily fell for the Swiffer Wet Jet idea.  And it is convenient.  You just fasten on a cloth to the bottom, push the button to release the cleaning solution and start cleaning the floor.  I don't have to pull out a bucket, fill it with solution and add water, and I don't have to ring out a mop when I'm done.  I just throw away the cloth.  I love that aspect of it! 

However, if you're looking to really get your floors clean, this just wont cut it.  It's fine for a quick clean up, but you can't rely on it to solely get the job done.  It just doesn't.  And if you have anything that needs scrubbed on the floor, you have to get on your hands and knees to do it yourself.  The Swiffer Wet Jet will NOT work for that.  Basically, what this product is good for, is to get the floor wet with the cleaning stuff and then you just push it around the floor.

Then there's the issue of replacement parts.  You have to buy the cloth pads for it.  And you have to buy the Swiffer Cleaning Solution for it.  You must buy their particular cleaning solution because the bottle is designed to fit into the Swiffer itself.  So, they kind of get you there.  And I don't like having to keep buying these replacement pieces because sometimes....I just don't have the money to do it.

Swiffer Wet Jet doesn't get in corners very well either.  What happens is that the cloth usually gets pulled off the corners when you try to fit it in a tight place.  Or if you try to clean underneath things; the same thing happens.  And even though the cloth "captures" hair and stuff, I feel like I'm just spreading it all over the floor the entire time I'm cleaning.  That's a gross thought.  With a mop, you can ring it out and get some of the gook off.

So, I guess I'd recommend this for a very light clean up.  But to get the job done, to really get your floor clean, your better off dragging out all your cleaning supplies and getting the job done right.
