I have had my Swiffer Sweeper for years and really love it. I mostly use it for quick clean ups in my bathroom because it is great for cleaning up dust and hair.
I have also used the Swiffer Sweeper on my hardwood and tiled floors with average results. If I'm only trying to clean up fur balls in the corners, then it does a great job. However, if I want to do a really good clean up job and get all of the dirt up, I am relegated to using the broom and dustpan.
Often with the Swiffer Sweeper, I feel like I am only pushing the dirt around into a pile, which then needs to be cleaned up with a dustpan. Why waste a disposable dusting cloth then? Not only is it costly, but it ends up in a landfill.
In regards to using the Swiffer Sweeper with the wet cleaning wipes, I have not had the best results. The wipes aren't wet for very long so big clean up jobs require lots of wipes. Also, for stubborn spots, I have to use a lot of elbow grease and end up scrubbing the spot with the wet wipe in my hand, not on the sweeper. I recently used up the last of the wet wipes and have no plans to buy anymore. I'm better off using a reusable wet cleaning rag that won't end up in a landfill.
For quick clean ups, I think that the Swiffer Sweeper does a great job. However, for deeper cleaning, keep the broom and dustpan.
