While talking to a co-worker at work we started talking about mops and that fun job. I said I wanted to get a "steam mop" and she said she had one and prefers her Swiffer mop.

So I went out to purchase a Swiffer mop (saved me cash compared to the steam mop) I brought it home, put it together, popped in the batteries (not included) and the cleaner (came with the mop kit along with some pads) and off I went. All very simple. Since I am a Febreze junkie I also purchased another of the Swiffer cleaner with Febreze sure my girls (my cats) were napping so they would stay out of my way while mopping HA.  I didn't want to spray them.  So that was a worry of mine with pets around.

Pads were simple to attach and all I had to do was spray and mop.  The cleaner for the mop had a nice scent and really good cleaning power that I noticed right away.

I did notice that the changing of pads were more frequent then what I wanted to do and while the cleaner did dry quickly, my floors didn't have their shine and came out very dull.  I hate dull looking floors and other cleaners have left more of a shine.  I went and got my floor stuff that puts a shine to my floors out and fixed that problem.

I do prefer the Swiffer mop over my old mop and bucket because of how simple it is and the cleaning power of the cleaner.  I still use my shiney floor stuff.  I live in an apartment so the double mopping isn't that big of a deal.

I had a very hard time deciding how many stars on this review, but I give it four stars because of the ease and the cleaning power.  I would say this is nicers for smaller areas like an apartment.

sounds good...and thanks for the tip. I will try this when I use up my bottle. I love tips like that :)

No, take a pair of pliers, grip the cap and slowly turn counterclockwise. This removes the retaining pins without damaging the cap. From that point on the cap just screws on and off.

Oh good tip thanks, I have one bottle that is almost done...I know what I will do! I am thinking a knife to pull back the top?

I use the Swiffer Wet Jet too. If you want a shine, refill the bottles with Glass Plus. Much cheaper and more shine. Contact me if you need i nstruction on how to refill the "unrefillable" bottles.

Yours is an interesting account of how this thing works. I gave up on mops (just before a lot of the good stuff started appearing in stores). I'm almost finished carpeting my kitchen with Flor tiles.
