Swiffer Duster® —

I've been using the Swiffer Duster for a while now.  Make no mistake, I do not like to dust.  Nope, just don't have the patience for it.  This is especially true when it comes to glass shelves.  And, here in the Xeno abode we have glass shelves everywhere!

When you enter the vestibule of our home you are struck by glass shelves that seem to appear from nowhere and are illuminated by a very high intensity lamp that pierces through them.  Note:  These are the only bulbs in the house that are not compact fluorescent.

These shelves are the home of the beautiful Mrs. Xeno's elephant collection.  Yes, she has a thing for elephants. (If she were a Republican I might better understand it.)  Elephants of every size, made of all materials known to mankind.  This is what is known as a dusting nightmare!

The Swiffer Duster

It was love at first sight.  This is a very gentle duster.  With minimal effort I can actually dust around the elephants without having to move them.  Rarely if ever do I even tip one of the smallest over.

For the lower shelves I can use the standard handle.  For the upper shelve I use the extend-able handle.  It really is a versatile dusting tool.  Sure, for big jobs I still fall back on lamb's wool, but for delicate chores it's the Swiffer duster for me.

Reservations

I don't know if it's just me, but I have a bit of a hard time getting the duster onto the handle.  I readily admit that my fine motor skills are wanting so maybe you'll find it simple.

Unless you're doing a very light dusting figure on going through a duster head with every use.  This thing is truly a dust magnet.  Once it grabs the dust it doesn't let go.  But I guess that's also a good thing isn't it?

My Viewpoint

When it comes to delicate dusting chores, it's hard to find something that can beat the Swiffer Duster.  I highly recommend it.

Anna,
Not only is it extendable, but it can be angled in virtually any direction. Pretty cool.

I really LOVE this thing. I'm a collector too and I agree that it does a beautiful job on delicate things without having to move everything. This was a very helpful review, I didn't even know there WAS an extendable handle! What a great idea!
