Every now and then, someone comes up with such a wonderful idea that you wonder how we ever lived without it.  Where would we be today if some genius hadn't invented the telephone, electricity, running water ... or Swiffer Dusters

Among the many domestic chores which I don't hunker to do is dusting.  There have been many times when I actually refrained from buying some gizmo or other because it didn't pass my own personal litmus test of "Sure, I want to BUY it but am I going to want to DUST it?"  I will frankly admit that Swiffer Dusters have not changed my attitude dramatically about dusting but they have made it much easier.  I have found them to be especially helpful in dusting my mini-blinds and also the shelves in my wall units or other surfaces where I have stored those objects which I HAVE caved in and bought over the years.  The Swiffer Duster is so soft that it can dust these objects and around them easily without disturbing or breaking anything.

I was frustrated for a while by not being able to buy refills without getting new handles as well but I was able to find a site which sold cleaning materials to hotels and so was able to purchase six boxes of ten refills each at a fairly reasonable price.  In fact, I have such a high regard for Swiffer Dusters that I even included some in my Christmas package which I mailed to a favorite aunt who doesn't like dusting any more than I do!

Oh listen! These thingss are WONDERFUL for collectibles. Honestly, you don't even have to MOVE them. (Of course, now I'll feel bad if this doesn't work out for you and something gets knocked over but the Swiffers are pretty gentle.) I too wish your Dad had a computer. Maybe our 2009 resolution should be to get your Dad and my Aunt on the Internet!

I'm with you and Patty...I can't stand to dust. I'm the ultimate neat freak (OCD) but dusting is the chore I loathe the most. With all my allergies you would think I would do it more but I find myself wondering: To dust or not dust, that is the question. Ms. Anna, I sure wish my Daddy had a computer and the Internet (he's happy with the elec. Smith Corona). I find myself laughing at your captivating one-liners and know that my Daddy would enjoy them just as much. He was born in 1942 so the two of you have the same historical knowledge of the good ol' days. I'm a dreamer and always thought I would fair well during the days of Little House. Someone needs to get me some these because with all my collectibles it would probably make my Saturday cleaning easier. Well, I only dust once a month--cough, cough!!!

Mr. Therre does SOME dusting but he is always working or sleeping so it's almost, time for me to don my goggles and face mask and get to it. I hate being allergic to dust, of all things.

Good review. So, if you're a bust, are you saying you belong on a shelf or a museum, gathering, oh, I don't know....dust?

What about Mr. Therre? Surely he can dust, right? I'd go help dust, but New York State is a teensy-bitty too far away for me to commute to!

LOL! I too have not bought things just because I don't want to dust them! I'm going to have to try this.

PattyTherre wrote on Sep 17, 2008 at 12:17AM

These make dusting easier but I still don't do it. I will have to eventually because I think I will end up on an oxygen tank if I don't. I'm severely allergic to dust which is why I don't dust which makes it all worse! My complicated life. lol.
