The Swiffer

The Swiffer CarpetFLick comes in a box about 12 inches x 9 inches. It contains everything you need to clean with The Swiffer CarpetFLick. Inside you will find the carpet sweeper (which needs to be put together) and 4 cleaning cartridges. The Swiffer CarpetFLick is designed to be used for fast and easy cleaning in between regular cleanings. It is a light weight cleaning instrument designed to be used on area rugs, and low pile carpets. It is supposed to pick up crumbs, leaves, dirt, grass, glitter, fuss and other tiny particles in one fast flick!

The Swiffer CarpetFlick retails anywhere from $7.99 to $12.99.  Refill cartridges containing 12 pads retatils for around $5.99.

IInstallation

It is fairly easy to put this gadget together. There are four pieces that interlock and become the handle. The handle attaches to the main component, Swiffer Carpet Flick. You will need to remove the protective coverings from the cleaning cartridge and snap into place in the Swiffer Carpet Flick. That's it--you are now ready to clean up those messes!

Using The Swiffer Carpet Flick

I was excited to try this product out and immediately thought it would be great for our new 5th wheel travel trailer. There isn't much floor space and a gadget for quick cleaning was just what I needed.  I finally decided to just go ahead and open the box and test it out in the house first--just couldn't wait to use it!

I first used the Swiffer Carpet Flick on a small area of carpet in between my bed and the dresser. It's always a pain in the rear to bring the full size vacuum in there because of space limitations. It picked up lots of grubbies and I was especially impressed with the amount of hair that couldn't even be seen in the carpet ecause of the dark color!

My next stop was my daughter's bedroom. The Persian kitty is partial to her room so I thought this would be a great area to test it's effectiveness on cat hair. Bingo! Swiffer Carpet Flick did a wonderful job at picking up cat hair!

The Swiffer is lightweight and easy to use. Dirt is attracted by tiny small brushes then goes up into the unit and sticks to the sticky pad. Plan on using one pad for each little job, they don't last long! Refill cartridges are available at stores that sell the Swiffer Carpet Flicks.

I felt that the Swiffer Carpet Flick does pretty much as it is advertised. It picks up small pieces of dirt easily. It is designed for quick jobs, not for doing your entire house. I did feel that the small pads were used up quickly. Refills can become expensive if you use this item often. However, for fast pick up jobs, you can't go wrong!

I will now be placing this gadget in the travel trailer to make cleaning up quick and easy while on trips!

I'm not sure this product would work well on high pile carpet or a shag carpet, but it seems to do a fairly good job for me.

My Viewpoint

I recommend Swiffer Carpet Flick for quick and easy cleanups.  Don't expect it to be your regular cleaning device to replace regular vacuums but it does the job for a quick clean up.   It works as advertised on some carpets (I have a low pile carpet) but I have heard that it doesn't work on some other carpets. It would also be great for small rugs throughout the house!

That would we a good idea! The regular wet swiffer should do that trick. I bet it would even work camping on the beach with all the annoying sand :)

Oh, you gave me an idea...I bet this would be great to keep in my camping stuff for my tent. Sweeping it is always a pain.

This sounds like something that I'd find particularly useful for stairs. I just don't vacuum stairs as often as rooms.
