Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street Review

Last night we got the DVD & it was our after dinner treat.  Both my husband & myself just love Tim Burton's creations when mixed with Johnny Depp.  Since "Edward Scissorhands" they have brought countless great creations to the screen & oscar talks.  They both deserve many....

Never guessing this was a musical which added to the entertainment since singing is fare from a Depp requirement.  Also the makeup was the worst for a reason.  Just too much owder & pancake on their faces with the black eye shadow used on lids as well as under eye to give that deadly feel, which they were.

 Mrs Lovell with her meat pies, that had plenty of blood to them & the HUGE bugs loved them too.  I got such a roar out of her serving Johnny a pie, him biting & spitting it out without her seeing.  Plenty of booze too, even for a kid they win.

Then the barber comes out in a contest which he wins and he is taken to the top of the Inn to a barber shop with chair that he works on to give it a layback effect with footrest. Mrs Lovell gives him a hidden box of razors that add to the movie.  So as he slices throats shaving he can dispose quickly.  I won't give anymore away, but you will howl at it.

The singing is funny as many cannot sing, and the ending is a classic........
