Swan's Calamine Lotion is a product that every household should have in the medicine cabinet.  It is great for relieving itching due to allergic reactions to poisen oak and ivy and other things outdoors.  I have sensitive skin and never know when something is going to break me out.  My husband is allergic to flea bites and Swan Calamine Lotion works quickly to take away the itch.

Swan Calamine Lotion comes in several different size bottles.  I usually keep a small bottle of 2 or 4 ounces at home because it will dry up if stored too long.  The medication is a pink liquid formula that is easy to apply to bites or rashes with a simple cotton ball.  Swan Calamine Lotion dries quickly and leaves a light pink spot as it dries.  A small bottle usually costs around $2.00 to $4.00 and can be found in any store that carries first aid supplies.

Swan Calamine Lotion is the one medication my kids did not mind getting.  They frequently would get into ants or poison ivy/oak and be miserable from the itch caused by it.  This product does not sting and works quickly to relieve itching and burning.

I would definitely say it is a miracle product for working so effectively and is readily available at a super low cost.  I highly recommend Swan Calamine Lotion as a staple in your first aid cabinet.

I'm with Mike. A forest behind my parents' home was where my siblings and I often played. We came in contact with lots of plants and bugs that would cause us to itch and it was soon discovered that I had a severe reaction to Poison Ivy. I looked like someone threw a bottle of Pepto on me but hey, it allowed me to continue to traipse thru the woods so I didn't mind ;+)
