I started using Sure Payroll when we started the business and it has been a great experience.  It takes me about 5 minutes every two weeks to do payroll for the company.  The customer service has been very good and the price is reasonable.  I never even checked to see how much it might be for ADP or any other competing service, but at about $70 a month, it seems very fairly priced. I suppose I could cut the checks myself, but the benefit of having the taxes done automatically is a huge time saver to me.

The forms that you need to fill out to get started are lengthy but I am not sure there is any way around it.  The direct deposit works great.  I wish they had a feature to automatically send our 401K elections to our provider (Charles Schwab) but they don't yet.

All in all, I have been very pleased and would highly recommend Sure Payroll to a fellow entrepreneur looking to save time and focus on other parts of the business.

Matt, you are right on the money in two ways. Outsourcing your payroll compliance makes great sense since it eliminates the burden and risk of filing and paying your payroll taxes accurately and on time. Also, $70 per month for a small business is a bit pricey especially if it does not include 401k and accounting general ledger integration. These areas will require more time as you grow. Other things to consider are employee self service http://www.apspayroll.com/eselfservice.html, accrual plan and deduction tracking.
