Supersmile Professional Whitening System —

Quick View: The Supersmile Professional Whitening System is not all that it is cracked up to be. It's expensive and doesn't whiten much better than average whitening toothpaste.

Supersmile Professional Whitening System

This "system" consists of two small tubes. One is Accelerator and is 1.5 ounces. This is to be used before applying the toothpaste on your brush. You then take your 1.75 ounce tube of toothpaste and apply an equal amount. The brush should be dry. Then you brush your teeth as you normally would for about two minutes. That's it. That's the $33.00 "system". We're talking less than four ounces of product combined. I always wondered how you could use the same amount of Accelerator and toothpaste when there is less Accelerator than toothpaste but whatever. Nothing about this system really makes sense.I tried this system because it claimed to remove stains and form a barrier to keep them from building up.

The taste is bland and not zippy, fresh, or very strong. There is some baking soda taste which is not the most pleasant taste as far as I am concerned. The brush is dry so you do get to your teeth and get some surface stains off but, honestly, I saw very little difference when using this system and using plain whitening toothpaste. There is no bleach or any other substance to really get those stains off. The Accelerator does contain peroxide though and, if you have a cut, cold sore, or any sort of abrasion in your mouth, it will burn. Definitely be careful of that. I had no idea and I used this system when I had a tiny scratch on my gum from brushing with a hard toothbrush. The area bubbled up and turned white. But my teeth didn't. This set is $33.00! That is insanity. It isn't worth it. Oh yes, and you can't use the Accelerator with any other toothpaste. It is made to work in synergy with the Supersmile Toothpaste. Oh, please. The active ingredient in the toothpaste is Sodium Monoflurophosphate which is common in most toothpastes. Sheesh.

My Viewpoint

I know we all want whiter teeth but $33.00 for two tiny tubes of toothpaste, one of which is mainly peroxide and the other a fluorinated toothpaste? I don't think so! I returned mine with a big complaint and got my money back. I am flabbergasted that they continue to sell this system. But as long as people like me keeping buying into the hype, these people will keep selling it. I am giving this system 1 star. It isn't bad and won't hurt your teeth but it’s overpriced and doesn't do much. It's so expensive that I can't go higher with my rating. For $10.00, it would be a 3 star system.

Please write a review! Everyone has different experiences and consumers should know as much as they can so they can make a decision on whether to buy or not. It didn't work for me (I am a tea and diet soda drinker, no cigarettes, antibiotics, or genetic issues). I have found other things that have worked better. But if this works for you, that's great. Your opinion would be a great asset to people reading the reviews here.

Sorry to disagree. I've tried all whiteneners out there and this one actually worked for me. It didn't leave my teeth sensitive and gave me really good results. Yes, it's pricey but I don't have a bleached out look, I don't mess with strips or trays and brushing twice a day and quick results...I couldn't be happier. I guess it just depends on your staining. Antibiotics and genetic tooth staining can't really be brushed or bleached away. Not much more that I can say except I'm really quite pleased.

You could just brush your teeth with houseold peroxide and get the same (or better) results. I was very disappointed in this "system".

This is why I love the net...I suspected that this "system", marketed in magazines as baing without "harsh abrasives" was peroxide based. Thanks for taking the time Patty
